UWKC moves to Main Street
With assistance from the City of Vincennes and Knox County government, the UWKC relocated to the former Chamber of Commerce office at 316 Main Street. A ribbon cutting and open house was held with the Mayor and chamber officials assisting. Multiple community partners benefited from the move from Old National Bank which donated furniture and supplies to PACE, Children and Family Services, Blue Jean Center, Vincennes University, Salvation Army and Hope's Voice receiving items. Some significant art work was also donated to UWCC art with a heart and the Old Northwest Art Guild our new neighbors.

September 15th and 16th targeted for the 2022 Day of Caring.
Arrangements are being made with area agencies and local communities to arrange for multiple projects to be completed this fall. As many as 500 volunteers will take to the streets, parks, and agencies to clean up, fix up, and collect significant food pantry and other items for our county partners.
Homeless Task Force
The Task Force is currently in the process of applying for one of two grants being offered by the Division of Mental Health and Addiction that would help us build our referral portal, screening, and access to services. We are also working with the Mayor's office, First City Sunrise, local landlords, and developers to pursue larger federal grants for possible development of temporary shelter or living arrangements.
Chili Cookoff to return downtown
Plans are underway to hold a family friendly chili tasting and fund raising event for UWKC on the evening of Friday October 21st at Patrick Henry Square. Patrons can vote for their favorite teams on line but then also taste the various chili's and vote for their favorite.
Our Volunteers are Everywhere!
Volunteers from United Way helped with the inaugural historic half marathon sponsored by the Young Rotarians. The Old Chicago water station was one of the most spirited on the 13.1 mile route. "
