| | Want to Make a Difference? Join Rotary in Addison! | |
Addison is home to two thriving Rotary clubs — The Addison Rotary Club and The Addison Midday Rotary Club. Both are dedicated to Rotary’s motto: “Service Above Self.” Together, they are both making a big impact, close to home and around the world.
The Addison Rotary Club, founded in 1984, has contributed more than $5 million to worthy causes through its foundation. Each year, its signature fundraiser, The Addison Rotary Open, raises $175,000–$225,000 for the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas. Beyond that, the club has funded computers for Anne Frank Elementary, clean water in Congo, desks for schools in Africa, sustainable gardens, Santa’s Heroes, an emergency medicine conference in Rwanda, the Joseph Groh Foundation, the Guerrero Clinic in Mexico, and Rotary’s global fight to eradicate polio.
The Addison Midday Rotary Club is equally active. This year alone, Midday members have packed food and supplies for the homeless at Metrocrest Services, donated $10,000 to the Kerrville relief effort and $250 to Challenge Air, and donated supplies to George H.W. Bush Elementary. In the past, they have organized a Patriots Day reception after Addison’s moving 9/11 ceremony and hosted fellowship events like Oktoberfest at the Wolbers’ and the upcoming Garage Sale Bingo Night. They've also been part of community traditions like Addison’s Halloween celebration, Town Tree Lighting, and Holiday in the Park.
From raising millions of dollars for life-changing causes to volunteering at local schools and Town events, Addison’s Rotary clubs are united by one goal: making our community a better place.
Want to make a difference? Visit a meeting of either club and discover how you can serve, connect, and grow right here in Addison.
