National Hellenic Society's Gift to 60 Greek American College Students!
A Once in a Lifetime Experience
Dear Father,

The Greek American landscape in America's communities have changed dramatically.  Today, interfaith and intercultural families are the norm rather than exception. This is a wonderful opportunity for our Church to share the Good News, and for heritage organizations, such as ours, to pass on the cultural paradosis to the next generation of young Greek Americans.

The  Heritage Greece Program is a gift from the National Hellenic Society (NHS), a non-profit foundation that preserves, celebrates, and disseminates Hellenic heritage in America to enrolled, Greek American college students.  Heritage Greece participants share a two week cultural and educational immersion experience in Greece with a peer group of students from the American College of Greece, Europe's oldest and largest American-styled higher education institution. It is located on the hillside of a lush 65-acre state-of-the-art campus in the Aghia Paraskevi suburb of Athens.

Heritage Greece participants share an unforgettable odyssey, exploring the best that Greece has to offer. They learn about Greek history, culture, and traditions as they connect to their own respective heritage and identity. The NHS has sponsored over 300 Heritage Greece participants since 2010, who have described their experience as life-changing and their relationships with one another as lifelong.

Upon their return from Greece, the students matriculate in the Heritage Greece Alumni Network, where they can avail themselves to further career advancing opportunities, mentorship, and serve as ambassadors of Hellenic heritage.

We ask that you please please post information about the Heritage Greece Program (flyer and brochure attached) in your church bulletin, newsletter, and/or on your parish website. We certainly welcome your own referrals for the Heritage Greece Program.

Eligibility Criteria:  Enrolled college students ages 18-26 of  Greek or Cypriot descent with a minimum 3.0 GPA who have preferably never or seldom visited Greece.
