We are aware of the current news about the spread of Covid-19 and the Omicron variant. As you make a decision about attending Heritage Group meetings or excursions, please take into consideration your personal risk factors. Your health and well-being are most important.

If you are not feeling well or are uncertain about your status, please consider other members and stay at home. We will see you another time.
February Meeting
It is that time of year again. Continuing an honored tradition, we will make handmade Valentines which will be given to residents in area assisted living facilities.

Materials will be provided at the February 2 meeting at the Clubhouse. Please bring your scissors, some colorful pens or markers and glue sticks if you have them.

For those unable to attend, making cards at home will also be an option. Click here for instructions for making cards at home.

I am bringing a dish for potluck
I will be brown bagging it
I cannot make it
February Lunch
We will resume our Potluck Lunch tradition while continuing to offer the Brown Bag option for those preferring a personal lunch.

If I bring a dish for potluck,
what should I bring?
Something tasty! We don’t try to coordinate what members bring. It is possible, we might end up with all desserts or all meat loaf. But somehow it always turns out okay. Sometimes we have themes for our menus, but these are suggestions.

If you don’t have time or the inclination to cook, just buy it, put it in a nice dish, and tell us it is an old family recipe.

As for how much – you don’t need to bring enough for 40, just bring a good sized family portion – whatever your recipe says and fits in your casserole dish or bowl.

Be sure to grab your casserole dish, bowl or platter back after lunch.
Candy and Snacks
We will be collecting individually wrapped candy and snacks (consider bags of individually wrapped Dove Chocolates, Hershey Kisses, Goldfish) to include in our Valentine gift bags for assisted living residents.

If you wish to contribute, here are some options:
  • Bring a bag to the February Meeting on February 2.
or
  • Bring a bag to the Clubhouse on February 9 for packing and delivery.

January Recap
New Year's resolutions benefiting health and our environment were the theme at the Heritage Group's January meeting as members entered a clubhouse adorned with artistically arranged fresh produce centerpieces complemented by excellent composting/recycling tip sheet displays.

Thank-you to Rebecca Marek, Monthly Head Hostess, for her ever creative and attractive decor and Arlene Veach, Betsy Boston, and Elizabeth Ruthven for their roles in making this day possible.

Appreciative thanks also goes out to Cathey Harrison for facilitating the fresh produce donation to Heights Interfaith Ministries Food Pantry.
Kids' Meals and Union Kitchen
A joyful in-person Heritage Group reunion with Kids' Meals, Inc. was January's featured volunteer activity as members industriously resumed prepping and packing lunches for this worthy organization we genuinely love partnering with.

Ladies enjoyed a lunch following at Union Kitchen.
