Garage and Bake Sale
Ladies, start your spring cleaning early and set aside household goods for our biennial fundraiser scheduled for Saturday, April 2, 2022.

Please save paper bags and newspapers from your deliveries over the next month. We will use them to wrap purchases. Also give some thought to how you would like to participate - there is something for everyone to do. That could be donating household or baked goods for the sale, helping to set up, greet, sell, pack up, clean up... the list of volunteers needed is long!

Click below to sign up to donate or to volunteer for various shifts.
2022 Garage and Bake Sale Sign up
Alternatively, a sign-up sheet will be available at the March Meeting on March 2nd. Please contact Anna Gay with any questions.
A Special Thank You - WSLI
Sharing a recently received thank you note from the Love/Helms Elementary librarian for the club’s 2021 WSLI (Women’s Studies Library Initiative).

The WSLI is a joint annual Evening-Heritage Group community outreach project benefitting nine Heights area HISD school libraries and also honoring our original mission to contribute to the maintenance of a library.
February Recap
The Heritage Group February meeting presented a veritable kaleidoscope of red and pink hues adorned with lace and diamonds from the attendees' Valentine outfits, to the classically styled table decor and the members' beautifully handcrafted Valentine cards.

President Rosina Chevalier poignantly dedicated this well-attended meeting to the loving memory of members Melvalene Cohen and Judy Kueck. After conducting club business, members were treated to the first pot luck luncheon since March 2020, served on Swansea Rose club china with our accompanying silver flatware. Thank-you to all who served as Monthly Hostesses officially and unofficially, including Lead Hostess Rosina Chevalier, Amy Amos, Ellen Bell, Trisha Oyer, Elizabeth Ruthven and Diane Webb. Diane graciously shared her vintage frosted glass tea light centerpiece arrangements lending just the right delicate finishing touch! It is heart-warming to see our newer members taking on a variety of volunteer roles and treating us to such beautiful results.

Thank-you also to all who brought Valentine chocolates and snacks for the Valentine gift bag delivery on February 9. The themed day ended appropriately with the creation of dozens of gorgeously hand-crafted Valentines lovingly designed by our members.
Valentine Packing and Delivery
An early Valentine delivery was prepared with love from the Houston Heights Woman's Club Heritage Group to our neighbors at Heights House and The Village of The Heights. Members gathered at the clubhouse enthusiastically filling Valentine gift bags with donated chocolates, snacks, and gorgeous handcrafted cards made by the very same members the preceding week.

Thank-you to Barbara Roberts, Programs VP, for ensuring the behind-the-scenes details and to Amy Amos for organizing our volunteer flow and gift bag labels with panache! Thank-you also to all involved in the hands-on deliveries: truly we are very appreciative of all our volunteers and donors.

Attendees then enjoyed lunch at Shandy's and relished Houston's balmy weather compared to last year's somber wintery delivery on Uri's eve.
