Cookies!
Each year the Heights community bands together to provide for local low income residents in Heights House and Heights Tower. Among other gifts, assorted cookies are placed into individual bags and given to residents. There are 500 residents.
The Heritage Group has signed up to provide 100 dozen cookies. How will we do this? Think the cookie aisle (not bakery aisle). Example: A one pound pack of Oreos contains over 3 dozen cookies.
So pick up a pack or two of Nabisco, Keebler, Mothers, Pepperidge Farm or similar cookies and bring them to the meeting. If each member brings two dozen cookies, we will easily achieve our goal.

Giving Thanks, the November Heritage Group monthly meeting theme, reminded us there is much to be thankful for during this unique time as members arrived arms-laden with a total 111 tomato products, 45 jars of peanut butter and 3 misc canned goods for Heights Interfaith Ministries Food Pantry. We are thankful to our numerous members for their kind-hearted generosity and to member Cathey Harrison for her thoughtful same-day delivery of all these foods directly to Food Pantry shelves.
November welcomed Heritage Group members with a Thanksgiving themed clubhouse décor as a packed house listened attentively to Tereasa Reimer, Lead Tour Docent for the Brookwood Community, share the history and mission of this wonderful organization.
We are grateful to our monthly Hospitality team led by Linda Guerra Navarro - Hospitality Coordinator, and Karen Adams - Head Hostess, with volunteers Mary Mandola, Amy Vasquez, Joyce Rozell, Susan Pepper, Laura Thorp, and Diane Webb, for creating a decorative holiday themed setting throughout! And thank-you to Barbara Breese for sponsoring this month’s door prize.

Brookwood Tour
A day spent at the Brookwood Community never disappoints. Nineteen Heritage Group members visited with resident Citizens, met staff, toured the grounds, and learned even more about this unique organization.
The outing included lunch at the Brookwood Cafe and some much anticipated shopping. Thank you to Barbara Roberts, Programs VP and the Committee for a successful day.

Dear HHWC Members,
Thank you for attending my book signing this past Sunday [November 13]. Your presence made my initial launch of Her Choice a momentous occasion for me. I loved your being there, and I appreciate your support and enthusiasm for my novel more than I can say.
Let me reiterate, Her Choice was not only written by an HHWC club member, but the outstanding cover art was designed by HHWC member Lisa Cari. So we can boast of having a novel published and offered for world-wide distribution, that was the creation of two of our club members! Again, let me express my thanks to all of you who came or sent someone with a request for a copy of Her Choice.
Deepest regards,
Anne Sloan
