FROM YOUR PASTOR’S HEART … CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF TIMOTHY TEAM!

Sunday, we get to celebrate 20 years of Timothy Team at Heritage! This ministry’s aim is to transform children into spiritual champions through intergenerational interaction with the Word of God. It is a five-year plan, and we have just completed our fourth rotation. Year one is on Genesis. Year two we study the Life of Moses from Exodus through Joshua’s entrance into the promised land. Year three we look at major Bible characters. Year four is on the Gospel of Luke, and year five is on The Acts of the Holy Spirit with some attention to Paul’s letters. Our goal is for every child to go through this rotation from 1st-5th grade, then go through it again as a youth on a more mature level.

It becomes intergenerational when mom, dad, grandma and grandpa get involved in doing the studies together and memorizing the scriptures together as a family at home. This is where Dr. George Barna says the transformation takes place as it says in Deuteronomy 6:4-8

4 “Listen, Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. 6 These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. 7 Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them be a symbol on your forehead. 9 Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your city gates.

This is our charge as parents and grandparents and as the family of God. We are to sow the Word of the LORD into our children through our daily lives. You can start signing up your 3-year-olds through kindergartners and your 1st through 5th graders beginning this Sunday.

Transforming children into spiritual champions is Heritage Church’s #1 priority. Come celebrate this with us Sunday. Pastor Brian Seewald, who has been teaching the Adult Timothy Team Class on Wednesday evenings, will bring our message on Acts 20. The children will share a few of their favorite songs, their ABC memory verses and some testimonies. I also want to give a shout-out to my wife, Allison.  She and a friend developed Timothy Team in the late 1990’s. She has been the major force in writing and teaching the curriculum these many years.

Celebrating with you!

Upcoming Opportunities and Announcements

Celebrating 20 years of Timothy Team

This year marks a significant milestone for our church as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Timothy Team. Over the past two decades, this ministry has been a cornerstone of spiritual growth and discipleship for countless young hearts.

The vision behind Timothy Team can be attributed to Allison Hilliard, our Pastor's wife, who has been the driving force since its inception. Allison's unwavering commitment to nurturing the faith of our children led to the development of this comprehensive five-year curriculum rotation. It provides a solid biblical foundation and engages children and families in meaningful ways.

Each week, Allison teaches the lessons to our dedicated team of teachers, ensuring that they are well-equipped to train up our children. Her leadership and devotion have fostered an environment where children can learn the Bible, grow in their knowledge of who God is, and build lasting relationships with their peers and teachers.

As we celebrate this Sunday, we reflect on the countless lives that have been touched and transformed through Timothy Team. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Allison and all the volunteers over the years who have contributed their time and talents to make this ministry a success. We are making a mighty army of Spiritual Champions!

Join us this Sunday in commemorating 20 years of Timothy Team!
