A Special Night with Great Purpose
John Davis, President | Blog

Not all events are equal. Certainly every athletic contest, musical concert, spelling bee, robotics competition, and forensics/speech meet is important because each of these provide the opportunity for students to show how they are learning and growing. Only rarely do we call on all constituents to participate in one event that is very strategic, moving the school forward in significant ways.

Therefore, please accept my personal invitation to attend and/or help with our Gala & Auction on February 18.

Few events have as much win-win potential as this one. The benefits of a successful Gala & Auction are many:
  • In a year plagued with inflation and tight budgets, the proceeds of this event are critical to Heritage. Every penny raised is important, which allows us to keep moving the mission forward.
  • This event brings the Heritage community together in a wonderful way. Rarely do we have parents from all campuses, grandparents, donors, dignitaries, and volunteers all together in one place with a common purpose.
  • We celebrate the spirit and heart of Heritage through an excellent program utilizing talent and telling stories that span from the youngest grades to the oldest alumni. Those attending walk away inspired and encouraged as they reflect on the good work accomplished in the hearts and minds of our students.
  • Those participating in the auction portion of the evening have the opportunity to purchase tremendous items. For months, we’ve been seeking donations for everything from jewelry to sports items to exotic vacations. There’s something for everyone.
  • Lastly, we find there are servant leaders who really enjoy volunteering, which makes all of the benefits listed above possible.

Come participate in this awesome night. You can find information for buying tickets, donating items, and volunteering on our website

Parent Workshop - Helping Kids with Self-Regulation
Heritage's Preschool and Elementary Teams are hosting a workshop for parents about helping kids with self-regulation. All parents and teachers are invited! Anyone with children or who works with students of any age will find this session beneficial.

Tuesday, January 24, 2023
Banner Church Sanctuary
6:30-7:30pm
Doors open at 6:15pm

Does your child have big, intense emotions that run hard and deep throughout the day? There's actually a term for that: emotional dysregulation, when those big, intense emotions cause your child’s behavior to explode, retreat, or even shut down. Through this workshop, you'll begin to see your child's reaction through the lens of dysregulation and how to go from reacting to the behavior seen to responding to the struggle being experienced.

Presenter: Katelyn Mabry is a special educator with a masters in Reading. She is an author and hosts a podcast for kids. She and her husband have 4 young children, including her son who is currently enrolled at Heritage Christian Preschool.

There is no fee for this workshop, but registration using this form is required.
