The City of Plano offers heritage preservation grants to local, nonprofit organizations that support heritage preservation, education and tourism in the community. Since 2004, over $11.8 million has been allocated to organizations promoting heritage programming and tourism, historic preservation advocacy and historic restoration projects within Plano.
A total of $640,000 was awarded during the 2020- 2021 fiscal year to the Plano Conservancy for Historic Preservation, Heritage Farmstead Museum, Texas Pool Foundation and the North Texas Masonic Historical Museum and Library. Grant funds are generated from Plano's hotel/motel tax revenue and projects must show support for the City's hospitality industry.
Applications are now available for the 2021-2022 grant season. The deadline to apply is May 3, 2021.
