January is Cervical Health Awareness Month, which makes this a good time to remind women to schedule their annual exams with their GYN physician. According to the National Cervical Cancer Coalition, more than 14,000 women in the United States are diagnosed with invasive cervical cancer each year, yet the disease is preventable with vaccination and appropriate screening.

Alaina didn’t feel the “calling” to become a nurse until high school. Once she discovered her strengths, she knew that nursing would be the perfect fit for her. Working as a nurse’s aide furthered her skill set and prepared her for nursing school, and ultimately for Emergency nursing. Alaina feels that Heritage Valley is truly a community, and we certainly are glad that Alaina is part of the Heritage Valley Family!
