New Online Payment Portal

Heritage Valley’s online payment portal is up and running! Please click here to be connected.

Following the cyberattack on Change Healthcare in February, we were left with a temporary inability to process online bill payments from our patients. Change Healthcare is the largest processor of medical claims in the United States, and Heritage Valley is one of their clients. Fortunately, we took immediate steps to protect our patients’ information, and have confirmed that there is no malicious activity in our system.

We have now partnered with RevSpring, an innovative and award-winning provider of payment and communication solutions, to enable our new online portal for securely paying your bill. We realize that not being able to use credit/debit cards for bill payment since the end of February has been an inconvenience for our patients, and we certainly appreciate your patience as we have worked diligently to provide a new option.

Join Us for Some Summer Fun!

Echocardiography Lab Accreditation

Heritage Valley Health System Echocardiography Labs have been granted an additional three-year Certification of Accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) in Echocardiography in the areas of Adult Transthoracic and Adult Transesophageal. The accreditation demonstrates the ongoing commitment of the physicians and staff in providing high quality patient care and the provision of quality diagnostic testing in Echocardiography.

“This certification is the result of the hard work and dedication of our entire Echo staff. From image acquisition by our highly skilled sonographers through image interpretation and reporting by our well-trained and experienced physicians, our lab strives to achieve excellence every step of the way,” said Dr. Michael Malkowski, Medical Director, Echocardiography, Heritage Valley Heart & Vascular Center. “I want to congratulate our entire staff for this impressive achievement.”

Echocardiography, also known as Cardiac Ultrasound, is the use of Ultrasound to examine the heart. It is a type of medical imaging, using standard Ultrasound or Doppler Ultrasound. The visual image formed using this technique is called an Echocardiogram, a Cardiac Echo, or simply an Echo.

To schedule an appointment for an Echocardiogram, please call 1-866-901-4624. For information about all the Heart & Vascular health services Heritage Valley provides, click here.

Heritage Valley WoundCare ...

When Wounds Won't Heal

June is Wound Care Awareness Month, which makes this a good time to highlight Heritage Valley’s WoundCare Centers. You may need special care when that seemingly normal wound just won’t heal. Sometimes stubborn sores need an extra boost to begin the healing process. While most wounds, minor cuts and scratches heal on their own within two weeks, approximately five to six million people in the United States suffer from chronic non-healing wounds.

There are a variety of reasons why a wound may not heal, including swelling, diabetes, poor circulation, infection, radiation, pressure and nutrition issues. When this happens, specialized care is needed to treat the wound. Plus, people with underlying health conditions could be at risk for more serious issues.

Heritage Valley WoundCare provides patients with advanced outpatient treatment for difficult, non-healing wounds. Our specially trained team offers coordinated care, research-based wound technologies and treatments, and excellent outcomes. We will work with your primary care or referring physician to develop a treatment plan to heal your wound.

Many types of wounds are treated at our centers, including:

  • Arterial Ulcers
  • Burns
  • Diabetic Ulcers
  • Pressure Ulcers
  • Radiation-Related (Including skin, bone, bladder & intestinal injuries)
  • Surgical Wounds
  • Trauma
  • Vasculitis
  • Venous Ulcers

If you are suffering from a non-healing wound, or would like to discuss whether or not you need urgent care for your wound, please contact one of our locations below.
