Happy Doctors' Day

Celebrating Real-Life Heroes in White Coats

March 30th is National Doctors’ Day, a time set aside to recognize and honor the dedication and compassion of every physician who works tirelessly to heal, comfort, and save lives. From long shifts to life-changing decisions, their commitment makes a difference. Whether in busy hospitals, clinics, emergency rooms, or research facilities, the care provided by our physicians shapes healthier futures for all of us.

We want to thank the Heritage Valley Health System physicians for their time and commitment, each and every day! We appreciate their dedication, leadership, and all they do to lead the fight against disease and illness.

Happy Doctors’ Day to all of our physicians! Our communities are healthier and stronger because of you.

Urology Services Expanding at Heritage Valley

Dr. Mandeep Singh is expanding his Heritage Valley Urology practice at Heritage Valley Beaver to include a presence at Heritage Valley Sewickley Hospital, effective April 1, 2026. Dr. Singh treats all aspects of urologic disease, with a focus on Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland); stone disease; oncology; and incontinence. He has extensive expertise in urologic-related surgeries. Working with Dr. Singh since 2023 is Lauren Ryan, MS, PA-C, who earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Pittsburgh.

Due to the upcoming retirement of Dr. David Corral, an independent Urologist in Sewickley, we are pleased to announce that his Physician Assistant Richard Burns will be joining Dr. Singh’s Urology practice. Heritage Valley Family Medicine Physicians Dr. Elizabeth Ruberg, who practices in Moon Township, and Dr. James Priola, who practices in Hopewell, have referred many patients to Richard over the years. Both highly recommend him and state that Richard is compassionate, knowledgeable, and professional, noting that he has worked for several prominent urologists in the Sewickley and Moon Township areas for almost 20 years. “Richard will be a good asset to the HVMG Urology group,” states Dr. Ruberg. Dr. Priola agrees, adding that “Richard is extremely helpful and a really good provider who gets along very well with patients and staff.”

To schedule an appointment with Dr. Singh, Lauren or Richard, please call 724-773-3464 and select option 1 for the Beaver office or option 2 for the Sewickley office.

Your Future in Nursing Begins Here!

Join the next generation of nurses! The Heritage Valley School of Nursing is currently accepting applications for its Class of 2028, with classes beginning late June 2026. Our 22-month program continues to prepare practice-ready graduates through a rigorous blend of academic excellence and hands-on clinical experience. In response to the evolving needs of today’s learners, summer coursework is delivered online rather than in person, providing added flexibility while maintaining the high standards that define our program.

If you are interested in a nursing career, or know someone who is, we encourage you to apply or share this opportunity. Scholarship opportunities are available; prospective students are invited to call 412-777-6204 or email sonadmissions@hvhs.org for details. As we invest in developing the next generation of nurses, we reaffirm our commitment to advancing healthcare in our communities. At Heritage Valley, the art and science of nursing begin here. Please click here to apply online.

Diabetes Prevention Program

The Heritage Valley Diabetes Prevention Program is a year-long program focusing on healthy lifestyle modifications to prevent the development of type 2 diabetes. New classes will begin in early June. New to Medicare as of February 2026: There is no limit on how often you may attend the Diabetes Prevention Program.

What is pre-diabetes? This means that your blood sugar is higher than normal, but not high enough to have type 2 diabetes. More than one in three American adults has pre-diabetes, although nine out of 10 people don’t realize that they have it. If you have pre-diabetes, you are more at risk to develop diabetes, have heart disease or experience a stroke. The good news is that losing weight and being active can cut your risk of type 2 diabetes in half.

Please click here for eligibility requirements. If you are interested in enrolling in a class or have questions, please call our Diabetes Prevention Program line at 724-773-4708 and one of our Certified Lifestyle Coaches will be happy to assist.

Cheers! to Good Health
