Wishing you a Wonderful Thanksgiving!

During Thanksgiving, many of us gather with family and friends, share delicious food and watch parades, football and, for the dog lovers among us, the National Dog Show! Why not add the annual Heritage Valley Health System Foundation/Sewickley Valley YMCA Turkey Trot to your Thanksgiving tradition? The race begins tomorrow at 8:30 am (rain, snow or shine!) at War Memorial Park, 811 Blackburn Road in Sewickley. Even if you have not yet registered, you are welcome to run or walk in the race! If you have not pre-registered, please arrive by 7:00 am. For more race information, CLICK HERE.

We wish all of you a joyous Thanksgiving, and want you to know that we are extremely thankful to be your healthcare partner. Heritage Valley and you ... Uniquely Connected. For Life.

From our Grateful Patients ...

We always appreciate when our patients take the time to express their gratitude for the care they received at Heritage Valley Health System.

  • “Everyone was very nice and doing a great job. It is nice to be treated well when you are feeling bad.”

  •  “I always come to HVHS for my care. I am always treated well.”

  • “My experience has been good. All of the aides and RNs are nice and do their jobs well. They are all polite. They answer all of my questions. Some of the food is really good, too, like the pasta primavera! I like HVS.”

  • “Zack (nurse aide) was great; he had a caring and wonderful personality. Dr. Connelly and Amy (hospitalist) were excellent. Both explained clinical issues in a manner that my husband and I could understand. All departments provided excellent service. Occupational and Physical Therapy staff were flexible. Food was good.”

  • “We would like to recognize and thank two very special nurses at Heritage Valley Beaver ... Riley and Alison. It is so awesome to know that we have such caring, compassionate nurses! God bless you both and thank you to all who had anything to do with our parents’ care.”

Making the Most of Thanksgiving Leftovers

Thanksgiving dinner is one of the most highly anticipated meals of the year. Make the most of all that hard work and planning by transforming your leftover turkey and sides (stuffingmashed potatoes, corn and more) into delicious next-day dishes that are just as good as the originals. As long as you store your Thanksgiving leftovers properly after your feast you’ll have them available in the coming days for whatever you're cooking up. We’re not only talking about a batch of turkey soup (with homemade turkey broth, of course!) or your go-to sandwich (although we’d gladly gobble either of those up, too). With these recipes you’ve also got creative options like savory waffles made with extra stuffing, pizza topped with creamy mashed potatoes, turkey shepherd’s pies—and so much more. Visit https://www.foodnetwork.com/thanksgiving/leftovers/best-thanksgiving-leftover-recipes to check out these tasty recipes.
