Join Hermosa Beach Mayor Stacey Armato for our annual State of the City Address on Thursday June 13, 2019.
This year's State of the City Address will be held in the Council Chambers at Hermosa Beach City Hall (1315 Valley Drive) with a social hour at 5:30 PM and the program beginning at 6:30 PM.

Many Ways to Get Around
A warm summer day can bring a lot of people to the beach. If you're looking to enjoy everything Hermosa has to offer, but want avoid driving or having to find parking at the beach this summer, you've got choices! You can find info on ridesharing zones, EV charging, public transit, and more on our website.

Fun in the Sun
There's always something fun happening in Hermosa! From volleyball events, triathlons, and the international surf festival at the beach, to art festivals, yoga, and Shakespeare performances at the park, Hermosa Beach will play host to a variety of free events this summer that are fun for the whole family.

Keep Our Beach Clean
A day at the beach is a must on your summer bucket list. To keep our beaches beautiful and clean, we all need to be good stewards of our beach. It's simple, if you're at the beach throw away everything you bring and consider spending a few minutes picking up trash around you or participating in a beach cleanup this summer.

Play in the Park
Beyond the beach, Hermosa Beach has over 20 parks and parkettes throughout the City, offering residents ample green space for picnics, outings and sporting events. There are three City parks with large fields: Valley Park, Clark Stadium, and South Park, that are home to several youth and adult sport leagues.

Join us on a literary adventure this summer by learning about the programming, resources, and books our Hermosa Beach Library has to offer!
We are also fortunate to have the Hermosa Beach Friends of the Library and a number of Little Free Libraries that can be found with books throughout our little beach town.

Help be Our Eyes & Ears
While you're out and about this summer, if you see something in need of repair, maintenance, or attention, give us a heads up so we can address the issue in a timely manner. With our Go Hermosa App, you can help be our eyes and ears by submitting a service request when you see places that could use a touch up.

We are proud of the more than 300 small businesses that call Hermosa home. Our businesses put a lot on the line to chase their business dreams and their heart and soul into making the best little beach city even better and we hope you'll support our local businesses as you head to the beach or an event this summer.

A Summer Series
With the Hermosa Beach City Council awarding a contract for production and management of the popular Hermosa Beach Summer Series to 5B Artists + Media, the music will go on! You can mark your calendar and look forward to live performances that will be free to the public and feature high-caliber artists this August.

Strand for All
The Strand is a place to stroll, not a speedway. Please help us in keeping the Strand safe and enjoyable for everyone by observing the 8 mph speed limit, walking your bike, skateboard, wheels through the walk zone, and refraining from using the power on your motorized bikes, scooters, and skateboards on the Strand.

Breathe Free Hermosa
The City of Hermosa Beach has been working with the community in recent years to create smoke-free public spaces through our Healthy Air Hermosa campaign. The City has taken additional steps this year through new ordinances and a grant from the California Department of Justice to reduce teen tobacco use.

Every summer the population of Hermosa increases by the thousands as people head to the beach. Unfortunately, the population isn't the only thing that spikes during the summer - so do thefts. Dedication of the Julian Katz Memorial Bikeway
Join us for the dedication of the Julian Katz Memorial Bikeway in honor of long-time Hermosa resident, bicycle advocate, and reader of books, Julian Katz. The Hermosa Avenue sharrows will be re-named in his honr and we invite you to join in the dedication ceremony will take place at the Bicycle Corral located on Hermosa Avenue just south of 10th Street on Thursday June 6, 2019 from 5 to 6 pm.

Kick Off Your Summer at The Sandlot
Celebrate the end of the school year and the start of Summer with a special screening of the cult classic 'The Sandlot.'
The event will take place at the Hermosa Beach Community Theatre (710 Pier Avenue) on Friday June 21, 2019 starting at 6:00 PM.
Tickets are $5 for ages 17 & under and $10 for those 18+ and can be purchased in advance online.

Beach Cities Health
's FREE Fitness Series is back! Get moving and de-stress with Beach Cities Health District's Free Fitness Series, a community-wide event that brings together fitness and fun! This year Beach Cities Health will offer a series in Hermosa Beach in August!

We want you...to get involved in the City of Hermosa Beach. Applications are now being accepted for a number of the City's Boards and Commissions including the
Planning Commission;
Parks, Recreation, & Community Resources Commission; and
Civil Service Board.
The filing deadline to apply is 6 pm on Monday July, 1, 2019.

Are You and Your Pets Prepared?
Pets are part of your family and it is important to include plans for your pets in your family emergency plans and emergency supply kit. In addition to food and medications your pet may need, your kit should also include: a list of commands your animal follows, collar or harness with ID tag, crate or carrier, dietary needs and restrictions, list of medications, and a photo of you and your pet together in case you are separated in a disaster.

If you're a local business interested in going green or receiving recognition for your efforts, you can become a certified green business in Hermosa Beach.
Not only is the program free to participate in, businesses receive on-site assistance, and local and statewide recognition by participating in the Hermosa Beach Green Business Program.
