Brand New Fire Truck
The Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services hosted a traditional push in on June 3rd for the brand new Fire Engine 12. This Engine will give us the ability to serve citizens and visitors for many years to come.
Economic Development
County Administrator Jeff Rogers and Economic Development Director Valerie Pianta attended the groundbreaking on June 27th for Barrette Outdoor Living's new facility in Brooksville. A brand new 175,000 square foot PVC manufacturing plant is expected to be completed by early 2023 and will bring upwards of 170 new jobs to Hernando County.
Hernando County Parks & Recreation
On June 8th, the University of Florida/IFAS Extension at Hernando County and Florida Sea Grant volunteered to give a demonstration of their Drone Program to County Staff at Linda Pederson Park. They are currently offering a Drone Prep Virtual Course in August.

Commissioner John Allocco attended the Hurricane and Safety Expo on June 4th and spoke to the citizens about disaster preparedness
Check presentation of the $11,000 donation for the Bendickson Reef Site Deployment at the June 14th BOCC Meeting
Senate President Wilton Simpson, Representatives Dr. Ralph Massullo and Blaise Ingoglia attended the June 28th BOCC meeting
As of June 22, 2022, Hernando County Government and the Clerk's Office launched Legistar, a new system for accessing all Hernando County government meetings.

Airport Historic Monument Project
Long referred to as "The Bunker," the gunnery backstop is getting a transformation. Envisioned by Don Etchison and architecturally illustrated by Ed Hoffman, both long-time BKV pilots, the plan is to complete the transformation in time to commemorate the airport's 80th anniversary in November 2022.
