All Day
Purple Heart Day is a day of honor and remembrance for the brave men and women serving our Country. The County will proudly fly the Purple Heart Flag at the Courthouse all weekend long

Emergency Management
The week of July 18th-22nd, relationships were built, leadership skills were developed, and confidence was instilled at the HERricane Summer Youth Camp. Lifelong friendships were made along with interest to purse careers in public safety. Thank you Duke Energyfor the grant to allow us to host this week long camp.
Cypress Lakes Preserve is also in the process of receiving an installation of a beautiful kiosk for citizens to enjoy.
Both of these preserves are great places for hiking and bird watching.

Hernando County Government staff had a great time meeting citizens and sharing information at the Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce’s Politics in the Park on July 14th.

The County proudly proclaimed August 7th as Purple Heart Day at the July 26th BOCC Meeting. Join us in paying tribute to all Purple Heart recipients. Thank you for your bravery and sacrifices.
Congratulations to Pasco-Hernando State College for celebrating their 50th Anniversary! At the July 12th BOCC meeting, a resolution was read in honor of their milestone anniversary.
Commissioners Jeff Holcomb and John Allocco attended the 2022 Florida Sheriffs Association Summer Conference where Sheriff Al Nienhuis was sworn in as the 100th President of the Florida Sheriff’s Association.
As of June 22, 2022, Hernando County Government and the Clerk's Office launched Legistar, a new system for accessing all Hernando County government meetings.

Open House | Hernando County Utilities Department
Open House for Septic to Sewer Conversion Project
The Hernando County Utilities Department (HCUD) is hosting an Open House on Wednesday, August 10th from 2pm to 6:30pm on the first floor at the HCUD Administration Building (15365 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville, Florida 34613).
The County was notified that the project will receive state grant funding for a portion of District A (see map).
