Christmas is a time to sing what we believe!
This four-week series provides an opportunity to appreciate the season's expressions of hope, lament, joy, and devotion in Christmas music.
Each week features a passage of Scripture, as well as a well-known Christmas carol that illustrates the true message of the season.

This week we will be looking at the classic Christmas Carol

"God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"

and we will be looking at Scripture in relation to this carol from
See Christ Clearly in 2020
With the year 2020 just around the corner, AdventELC will be focusing on a theme: Seeing Christ Clearly in 2020 . We look to direct our attention and energy in two ways: seeing Christ clearly personally and showing Christ clearly to the world.
Did you know that most people look at church websites BEFORE they ever decide to visit? Did you know that YouTube has reported over 2 b illion users?

YouTube is one of the best platforms to reach the market of 18- to 49-year-olds. On average, 80 percent of 18- to 49-year-olds will watch a video on the platform each month.

AdventELC wants to connect people with Jesus. We want to help people See Christ Clearly . And one way to do that is engaging in the "Digital Mission Field."

We are looking to expand our digital reach
and you can help!

  • Subscribe to our YouTube Channel. When you do you will receive notifications when new videos are posted.
  • Share our videos. If you feel like someone you know could benefit from a sermon or one of our videos, sharing to other social media, text messages, or email is only a click away!
  • Relive the event. We have many ministries and events that are wonderful to remember. Look back and relive those ministry moments on our YouTube Channel.
Save a Stamp
The youth of AdventELC are doing a service project this Advent season.

If you are filling out Christmas Cards for members here at AdventELC, PLEASE DO NOT SEND THEM IN THE MAIL. Save a stamp and place them in the marked box in the narthex. The youth will alphabetize them every Sunday night and you can pick up your Christmas cards on the table in the narthex!

Carson Ollanketo on Team USA
Hockey is more than just a sport for the Ollanketo Family. It’s what first brought Allison and Brandon together (they literally met in a locker room) and it’s a shared passion that Brandon, who played for more than 30 years, now shares with his son Carson.

When they aren’t in church on Sunday mornings, it is likely they are on the road for a hockey tournament. Carson plays for the Columbus Chill Youth Hockey Association, a travel team and Brandon is the coach.

So far this fall they have ventured to Ontario, Canada, Indianapolis, and Cleveland. This past weekend they were in Detroit, MI where Carson played for Team USA against friendly Canadian rivals. What a thrill to be able to represent our great nation on the ice! Congratulations!
The Ollanketo Family invited Pastor Aaron to one of Carson's games.
And of course, PAL brought his camera 📷

Phil Foell said of Vybhav
"He was so blessed by the Advent [Live] Nativity last year. He wanted to make sure it was not disrespectful since he was a seeker and not a Christian. I told him the Magi were wise men from the east, and that it was honorable for a Ph D doctoral candidate from southeast Asia to aspire to be like them."
Prayer Request
Phil Foell, son of AdventELC member, Norma Foell, is the City Director for Columbus at International Friendships, Inc. (IFI).

Recently they suffered a loss with the sudden accidental death of a man named Vybhav. Please lift up his family and his friends from OSU, as they process this tragedy.

IFI is a Christian community organization that works in partnership with universities and volunteers to promote friendship and hospitality for international students, scholars and family members. IFI links international students with American volunteers from local churches who are interested in cross-cultural exchange and who help meet the various practical needs internationals face in living in another culture. IFI also partners with internationals through on-campus student organizations.
