MLC Alumni Association: Reimagined

The Martin Luther College Alumni Association (MLCAA) has officially completed its transition to become part of MLC, marking a new beginning for alumni connections.

The board spent considerable time discussing its purpose at the October meeting. The focus of its work in 2026 will be to build awareness of the MLCAA. We have a rich alumni base who come from MLC and its five legacy schools. The MLCAA wants to connect all alumni—retired, lay, and called workers—to MLC.

We would appreciate your help. You opened this e-newsletter. You have a vested interest in our college. Make your voice heard and complete this brief, five-minute survey. Your thoughtful answers will guide the board's direction in 2026!

As the MLCAA moves forward, the focus remains clear: connecting, equipping, and empowering alumni to champion Martin Luther College's mission wherever they serve.

Thank you to our outgoing board members: Jeremiah Drews MLC '08 (2025-2026 president), Tonya La Duca DMLC '94 (secretary and 13-year board member), Kristen Tomczak MLC '99, and Emily Niemi MLC '14.

Co-chairs for 2025-2026 are Abe Degner MLC '05 and Karl Schauland MLC '08.

Front row: Rev. Austin Ziche MLC '13, Jeremiah Drews MLC '08, Rev. Karl Schauland MLC '08, Mandy Pavelchik MLC '03, Tonya La Duca DMLC '94. Back row: Prof. Em. Ron Brutlag DMLC '69, Stephanie Arndt MLC '07, Kristen Tomczak MLC '99, Rev. Abe Degner MLC '05, Eric Wolf MLC '13, Luther Curia MLC '03.

Homecoming Recap

We enjoyed seeing many alumni come home a few weeks ago for HOCO 2025! We had 278 alumni register, and 262 checked in to pick up their Homecoming shirts and MLC swag. Thank you, alumni. You're a blessing. 🖤❤️

We're excited to share pictures of all the Homecoming events and a two-minute video (link below). We don't have a date for next year yet, but we hope to see you here!

Help Tell MLC's Story

Martin Luther College is creating a new history book, celebrating our first 25 years of ministry (1995 - 2020)! A generous donor has covered the authors' honoraria and challenges alumni to cover the remaining costs, including archive work and copyediting (estimated at $3,000).

Please join us in preserving MLC’s story for future generations!
