Friends and Fellow Eagles,
Here is what’s new at your Chagrin Falls Eagles.

We are coming up on possibly the biggest weekend of the year at the club. This special Memorial Day Newsletter contains lots of useful and valuable information. I suggest you read every word and take some notes. You never know when there might be a pop-up quiz.
We have three bands scheduled, two barbecues scheduled, PLUS the Kick-Off-To Summer Party. Can life get any better than that?

- My Ex got my wallet in the divorce and my membership card was inside of it
- We worked on the Fire Department together, let me in!
- I’m a Heun, damnit, I don’t need no stinking membership card
- I’ve been a member since before you were born sonny, out of my way!
- I don’t carry my card, but here is a door key.
- My husband is in there; Just let me in to see if he’s here with his girlfriend.
- I thought you only needed your card to win the Queen of Hearts
- Art said I don’t need to show YOU anything!

Does the expression No Tickee No Washee mean anything to you?

The above lines are just SOME of the lines that the door checker will hear this Sunday. And guess how many of them will work? Go ahead….guess. If you guessed only 2 or 3 of them you are WRONG!. No excuses will be accepted, only a current, SIGNED membership card will get you in to the busiest day of the year at the club.
You can bring a guest, but you need to be attached at the hip to get in the door, and when you leave, they leave!
With it being really crowded, do you think our 29 parking spots will handle the crowd? I hear you ask. Probably not. Parking is going to be a problem. Please be sure that you only park in a legal spot in our lot or the office building above us. DO NOT PARK IN THE DRIVEWAY OR THE ROLLER RINK or your car could be towed.

|
For only TEN DOLLARS, you will get to pick from two of the three grilled specialties, Burgers, Dogs or Brats (I know, it is hard to pick which 2 you want, that is why I am giving you the option now so you can think about it for a few days in advance instead of holding up the line at the grill). It also comes with sides.

Corn Hole Tournament starting at 3 pm
Only TEN BUCKS to enter and WINNER TAKE ALL

Entertainment Sunday from 4 to 8 by East Wind
East Wind, one of Cleveland’s top rock groups of the 70’s, reunited its original members from the late seventies to do a reunion show at The Beachland Ballroom back in September of 2009.
Then it all started. East Wind fans were all coming out of the cracks, as well as new East Wind fans. The response lead The East Wind to start doing more shows. Next was Wilberts, The House of Blues, Tangier, and then many of the local rock clubs.
Today East Wind is back like they never left. The musicianship and four part harmonies have seasoned well.

Memorial Day Monday: A barbecue lunch will be served at 1 pm, free for veterans, $10 for anyone else. To All Veterans, I believe I speak for the entire Aerie when I say THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE!
| |
We need volunteers for set-up, clean-up, side dishes and desserts on MEMORIAL DAY MONDAY. This luncheon is an Auxiliary event and no better way to show your appreciation to our Veterans and first responders that are in attendance that day. Set up will begin around 11:00 a.m. & clean-up around 2:30 p.m.
Please email jkless@infinityconstruction.com if you can help with any of the above items. For the side dishes and desserts, please email what you will be bringing (side or dessert) so we can tell others what is still needed. You can drop off side dishes and desserts any time Sunday or Monday morning before 10:00 a.m. - a staff member can put in the cooler.
| |
SPEAKING OF CANDY: We distribute about 3 5 tons of candy to all the starving children of the Chagrin Valley during the parade. We will be looking for candy donations. Please drop them off at the club in the weeks before Memorial Day. But PLEASE no chocolate, it melts on the float, not on your hands.
|
Speaking of ordering food on the patio, you must now show your membership card to the server BEFORE she takes your order. (Only one card needed per group).
Please don’t give our lovely servers a hard time about this or you might possibly die of starvation.

Saturday Night will be the regular menu and will feature Chef Jimmy’s World Famous Prime Rib Dinner
| |
Entertainment will be by The Idol Frets
The Idol Frets is composed of five northern Ohioans whose eclectic musical backgrounds, tastes and talents combine to generate lots of excitement and fun everywhere they play.
Drawing from Classic Rock, Classic and Modern Country, Funk, R&B and Blues with hits from the likes of The Beatles to Lynyrd Skynyrd to Joan Jett to The Allman Brothers, Johnny Cash to Charlie Daniels to Little Big Town to the Osbourne Brothers, James Brown to Wild Cherry to Neil Diamond… you simply can’t help but hear many, many songs that’ll make you smile, sing, move, groove and dance!
Ashley softly sings or belts out vocals, plays her fiddle tenderly or sets it ablaze; Mike wails on guitar, screams out rockers and never fails to amuse; Ron provides the pounding, steady percussive pulse along with his great, big and wide, beaming smile; Tim wields his thundering bass guitar and bassy voice to bolster the ‘Frets;
Wearing multiple hats (usually black) Joe rocks and croons, delivers solid guitar rhythms and/or melodic or screaming solos.
The Idol Frets love to entertain and enjoy their time with their audiences. C’mon out and join in on the fun with The Idol Frets!
