Thank you to everyone who filled out our survey last week!!

We sent out a survey last week regarding our class calendar, and we had a ton of responses! Here's what you told us:

* 60% of you prefer in-person classes.

* 14% need Saturday classes - the rest prefer weekdays, or don't have a preference

* Time of day was balanced between morning and afternoon.

Some of you wanted beginner classes, but the favorite pick for classes was sewing, embroidery, and quilting projects! That's good to hear, so we are going to be adding more of those. We hope to have some of these on a monthly recurring schedule, so stay tuned!

Do you want to learn about embroidery?

Come join us at our Valleydale location, Saturday, February 19th from 10:30-1:00 to learn about preparation for machine embroidery.

This will be a lecture type class where we will cover steps needed to prepare for embroidery. We will talk about stabilizers, needles, threads, hooping and tips for successful embroidery projects.

Class fee is $15. All you need is a notebook and pen. Please call to register asap for seats will fill up fast. Call us - (205) 848-2303.

Embroidery 101 at the Trussville location was originally scheduled for February 2nd, 9th, and 16th. However, Covid ran through the Trussville location in January like a runaway serger, so we didn't get to complete all of the guide classes that are needed first. As soon as we complete everyone's guide class, we'll get the Embroidery sessions scheduled again. Keep an eye on that calendar!

Do you want to try your hand at Kimberbell? Our monthly Kimberbell class is slated for the 2nd Saturday again (Feb 12th). Come join us! v9 Software Classes have started

The first class for the BERNINA v9 DesignerPlus software was held last Saturday at Trussville. 5 ladies came and viewed the new features. There are a lot of folks asking, "What if I only have v8. Will you have classes for me too?

In short, YES. Most of the actions that you want to do in v8 are very similar in v9. So we will be listening to you to see what you would like to learn, and we'll have a class on that. Software classes, unless specifically listed, will not require you to upgrade to participate.

Q-Series Certification Classes

Do you have quilt tops ready to be quilted, but you don't want to use your domestic machine? Complete our Q-series certification class to use our Q-20 on the frame to complete your quilt top.

After completion of the class, ou can rent the machine in the Valleydale store or the Trussville Store for $15/hour. This is a great way to finish your quilt!

If you want to register, but these days aren't convenient, call and ask us if we can help! We want everyone to be able to quilt, so we'd love to work with you to find a time to get you certified.

Do you want to build a Snowman?

Have you wanted to create one of the big OESD tiling scenes, but you thought they were too complicated? Come to our Orange Peel Expressions class on Feb 19th at 10:30am in Trussville!

The Orange Peel Expressions tiling scene is 16 designs (half of what you see in the larger ones), so it can be done in a day if you wanted to knock out a quick wall hanging. Each design takes about 15 minutes of stitching time.

We will show you how to stitch out 2 designs, and then we will sew them together to make your first block. Then you can go home and stitch out the rest, and you will have it ready to show us on Monday morning. It really is that easy!

This design uses 14 Isacord colors, but we will show you how to substitute your own colors. You can also change out the background fabric for many different looks. Call us at (205) 655-3388 and come celebrate National Embroidery Month with us and make this fun tiling scene!
