2022 is here, and so is the fun!

Happy 2022! We want to begin this issue by thanking all of our customers for thinking of us in 2021 for all of your sewing, quilting, and embroidery needs. Small businesses could not exist without people like you.

In this new year, we want to continue with the momentum we have generated with you. So many of you came by to get new BERNINA machines, and we are ready to begin helping you learn them with guide classes. We are also scheduling classes to teach you embroidery, quilting, and software too. Read on for details.

Classes return in 2022

Would you like to learn how to use your new embroidery module? Or maybe you want to try out the new Bernina v9 software, but you don't know what it's all about. Or maybe you bought a machine with a BSR back when it was in the old box.. and you have never opened it. (You know who you are...)

We can still teach you! Here are our upcoming classes for January in our Trussville location:

1/8 - Kimberbell embroidery

1/11 - Kimberbell embroidery

1/12 - 4 series guide class

1/12 - 5 series guide class

1/13 - 7 series guide class

1/15 - 4 series guide class

1/19 - embroidery for 5 & 7 series

If you are interested in any of these, please call the store at (205) 655-3388 and register. Guide classes are free if you purchased your machine from Robin's, but class sizes are limited, so we do want to reserve you a spot.

Certification classes for our longarm quilting machines are done on an as-needed basis. We can do those at either of our locations. If you are wanting to get certified to use the longarm, call Trussville at (205) 655-3388 or Valleydale at (205) 848-2303 and we will work out a date for you.

What is Kimberbell?

Kimberbell is a very unique set of embroidery designs that all make great gifts! Come and join us on Saturday 1/8 or on Tuesday 1/11 to make this adorable Easter Bunny Ornament.

If you are like me and haven't taken down your Christmas tree yet, come make one of these and learn a new technique. You will leave with a fun ornament, and you will also get the design so you can make more at home. Now you can leave your Christmas, uh, "Easter tree" up for a few more weeks.

Call us at (205) 655-3388 to reserve your spot. You will need to give us your email address to register with Kimberbell to receive your design prior to class. This fun class is only $18!

New fabric from Tilda

More new fabric in Trussville! The latest collections by Tilda are here. One collection features brightly colored polka dots, and the other is more subdued shades of red, purple, and blue flowers with matching solids to go with them.

We also have new patterns in from Amanda Murphy as part of the Frolic collection we mentioned last month. We also have a new edition of the Easy Quilts book we told you about too!

New Year, New Machine

Are you jealous of your friend who got a fancy new BERNINA B790 last year? We can help you out with a real gem of a deal. We have two Crystal Edition machines in our stores that will be sure to grab your attention.

The B790 has 10 inches of space to the right of the needle, and the B880 has a whopping 12 inches! Both have Pinpoint placement, Hover Mode, and the Swiss precision that you have come to expect from BERNINA.

And through February 28th, both of these machines come with a fantastic gift FREE with purchase! You get a Crystal Edition XL Machine Trolly, a matching Crystal Edition case for your embroidery module, a BERNINA embroidery bundle, and a limited-edition tin with two extra feet, Crystal-inspired designs from OESD, and real Swarovski crystals that you can sew onto your new projects. This is really one that you really have to see. The pictures don't do it justice. These things really sparkle! If you are in the market for a shiny new machine, this one will absolutely do it.

Is your machine making that noise?

Most of us have never had a need to look inside our BERNINA machines, so we take it for granted that the "Swiss precision" is working. We've heard about it, but we don't know what is inside the case. Would you like to see?

That's a lot of machinery! If you have been using your mom's old cheap thread because you didn't want to waste it, you likely have lint all through your machine. No wonder it's making a noise! Bring it to either of our locations to have our Bernina-certified technician get it running nice and quietly again.

Have you been waiting for months for this, like we have? We finally have v9 IN THE STORE. The Wifi Device (more on that soon) is delayed because of the worldwide chip shortage, but the software is in stock and can be picked up now. If you already own version 6, 7, or 8, you can upgrade to v9. If you don't have it at all (or if you own v5 or earlier), you can pick up a Full Version from us. We have both in stock!

Not sure if you want to do this or not? Download the free 30-day trial and see what great things you can create with this powerful tool.

We appreciate your business. We have enjoyed those of you who stopped by for the free fat quarter in December and chatted with us about your upcoming projects. We had someone come by who was making her first quilt, and she had drawn out her design and wanted help with fabric. That's so fun!

We had someone bring us her mom's handmade Breast Cancer Awareness quilt and needed advice on how to repair it. She walked away with some ideas, and we got to hear some fun stories in return.

One person stopped by to share a song she wrote about her grandmother's Featherweight. That makes her a Singer Songwriter!

A lot of you came by and asked if we could help you learn about your machines. Yes, we can. Keep an eye on our Website Calendar for upcoming classes and call us to reserve your free spot.

And while we were kidding about the Featherweight song, we weren't kidding about how great the new machines are. The gifts really sparkle!! Come by and see these for yourself and share your latest project with us. We'd love to see it.

Happy Sewing,

Robin
