Fifth Sunday Collection

benefiting Residing Hope

This Sunday will be the fifth Sunday of the month, so we will be collecting funds to benefit Residing Hope, formerly United Methodist Children's Home! Residing Hope is a diverse ministry that includes therapeutic residential care, foster care, independent living assistance, Montessori education for the community, and counseling services in multiple counties. We encourage you to come prepared to give.

Calling All Crafters!

We are in search of crafty people to help remake some of the Chrismon Tree ornaments. They are in desperate need of repair or replacement. Sue Blythe has some instructions and supplies, just come be willing to learn alongside her! This group will be on Wednesday nights, with availability as early as 4pm through 6pm.

Wednesday Night Activities are starting next week! Dinner with beef tips, mashed potatoes, fancy carrots, salad, roll, and dessert will be served at 6pm. A Note from Pastor Don & Lisa

Dearest Lakewood,

As both Lisa and I look back over our seven years together, we are grateful for each of you. It brings us great joy to know that together we connected people to God, grew followers of Jesus, impacted the world for God with love. Each of you are special to us, and we will always look back on Lakewood with fondness and love.

We are overwhelmed with your words of affirmation and love over these seven years but especially over this last month. We were blown away by your attendance at the reception on Sunday. It was both emotional and life-giving. We have read each of your cards and cherish your encouragement and love. We are blessed by many of your gracious gifts. Thank you.

We know that you are in great hands with Rev. Mike Moore and his wonderful wife, Debbie. They are both devoted followers of Jesus Christ that are committed to God’s calling on their lives. We are confident that they will be instrumental in leading Lakewood with love, compassion, courage, and boldness. We pray for them both.

Lisa and I are praying for each of you and for Lakewood’s future success in living out your shared mission and vision. We will continue to pray for you.
