RHD Participant Finds Healing

Through Art at LMCMS

Lori, a participant at RHD’s Lower Merion Counseling and Mobile Services (LMCMS), recently celebrated a major achievement. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) accepted her painting, I, The Seagull for Gallery of Hope: Artistic Expressions of Recovery Across the Nation, a national online art contest. Lori's journey into art has been about more than creativity. It's been a path to healing. “Painting helps me focus, and it gives me a sense of peace,” she shared.

MCIU Unveils New Dashboard and

Launches Awareness Campaign

The New Orleans Mobile Crisis Intervention Unit (MCIU), developed by RHD in partnership with the City of New Orleans and its Health Department, has exciting news to report! In July 2024, the MCIU proudly launched its online dashboard. This innovative tool offers a unique insight into its operations and impact, showcasing data on call volumes, response times, demographics, and more.



Also, MCIU commercials will be airing throughout football season, reaching audiences during NFL, college, and high school games in New Orleans. This campaign will help spotlight MCIU's essential services and the unwavering commitment of the team to making a positive impact in the community.

We are thrilled to announce, Look Here, a groundbreaking collaborative project between RHD’s Center for Creative Works (CCW), Haverford College’s John B. Hurford ’60 Center for the Arts and Humanities, and the Jennifer Lauren Gallery in Manchester, UK. Major support for Look Here is provided by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, with additional support from Haverford College's Hurford Center and Atelier Fine Art Services. ⁠Launching in September 2025, Look Here challenges the narrative around art created in progressive studios by amplifying the voices of neurodivergent artists. The multi-phase project includes concurrent exhibitions, a large-scale symposium, and a first-of-its-kind publication on progressive studio art. This project foregrounds accessibility and engagement and will showcase the groundbreaking work of CCW artists who are redefining artmaking and expanding creative possibilities.

Additionally, CCW artist Mary T. Bevlock was recently profiled in the most recent issue of Raw Vision Magazine, the renowned international journal that covers outsider art -- unconventional works created by self-taught and often neurodivergent artists.
