Dust Collection Industry News
Dust Safety Journal - Issue 6
A 4-Question Framework to Know How to Protect Your Dust Collector
Designing inherently safer systems involves minimizing the hazards, eliminating them, substituting them, moderating them, or simplifying them. The fact remains, however: putting a control in place doesn't remove the hazard.

Wet Chemical K Class Extinguishers
ABC or Multi-Purpose extinguishers utilize a specially fluidized and siliconized mono ammonium phosphate dry chemical. It chemically insulates Class A fires by melting at approximately 350°F and coats the surface to which it is applied. It smothers and breaks the chain reaction of Class B fires and will not conduct electricity back to the operator.

Webinar: Overlooked Aspects of Combustible Dust Design
Details
Combustible dust design is more than inlet isolation, discharge isolation, and explosion protection. This webinar delves into the aspects of combustible dust design that are often overlooked, such as explosion vent placement to create safe blast zones, blast zones in general, vessel strength, vent duct design, and interlock. The webinar will look at some common issues with these various topics, as well as the correct implementation of design and NFPA requirements.

This webinar will cover the following topics:

* Explosion vent placement with respect to safe blast zones
* Thrust force of explosion vents
* Strength of ducting
* Strength of explosion vent ducts
* Vessel strength (Pred)
* Interlocks
