2021 Scholarship Awards Ceremony 

On June 9, 2021, at 5:30 p.m. The Economic Club will celebrate and congratulate the 54 high school seniors from DC public and public charter schools who have been awarded the $20,000 Rubenstein/Economic Club Scholarship to support their college endeavors.

The event will premiere on the Scholars to Leaders YouTube channel and remain available for future viewing. We are delighted to welcome the largest class of recipients to date. Congratulations to our winners!

Member-Led Forums
The Economic Club held 28 Member-Led Forums throughout this fiscal year, accommodating around 783 members. These virtual programs provided an opportunity for members to connect with one another in a small, intimate setting.

This month, the Economic Club welcomed 2020 Scholars to our offices to pick up a gift bag and meet the Scholars to Leaders Staff. We are thrilled that the 2020 Scholars have successfully completed their first year despite pandemic complications.
Economic Club/Urban Alliance Summer Internship
This year, 34 scholars are participating in the Summer Internship Program. On Monday, May 24, internship participants began a two-week professional development training in preparation for their virtual and hybrid internship experiences.

Vernon E. Jordan, Jr. Scholars to Leaders Fellowship Program
On June 1, 2021, the Club launched the online application for the Vernon E. Jordan, Jr. Scholars to Leaders Graduate Fellowship Program exclusively for David M. Rubenstein Scholars. Applications will remain open until July 8, 2021.

This fellowship will provide up to three one-time $10,000 stipends to support graduate level studies across all disciplines. Economic Club Scholars interested in applying may access the fellowship through our website.

Seminar featuring Barbara Humpton of Siemens USA
The Economic Club held the second annual Emerging Leaders Program Seminar on Tuesday, May 4, hosted by Barbara Humpton, CEO of Siemens USA, Economic Club Global Initiative Task Force Chair, and co-sponsor of the Emerging Leaders Program.
