Welcome Susan Frye, our new part-time Parish Administrator and Communications Coordinator

We are delighted to welcome Susan Frye to St. Andrew’s. Susan is an experienced administrator and communicator, as well as a talented musician. She has a warm presence and excellent skill set. A Virginia native, Susan has been a North Carolinian since college. She earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in music, from Duke and UNCG respectively. Susan then taught piano and Kindermusik for several years and wrote curriculum and children’s books for Kindermusik.

Susan worked at the Center for Creative Leadership for 13 years before becoming a church administrator for a Methodist church three years ago. She and her husband Danny celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2020, as well as milestone birthdays for their three children, Sebastian (16), Hattie (13), and Gigi (10). During Coronatide they have acquired two guinea pigs, bringing the family pet count to four: one dog (Bernie), and three guinea pigs (Zoe, Lila, and Millie). Please extend to Susan a warm St. Andrew’s welcome!

You can contact Susan at parish@standrewsgso.org or 336-275-1651. During COVID, she will be in the office on Tuesdays from 10-2 (our current open hours) and will be working from home the rest of the week. Susan will manage the administration and communications of the church and her position is part-time. We are also hiring a part-time bookkeeper who will oversee our parish finances.

Additionally, there will be a bin outside the church for you to drop off items on Mondays and Fridays. A Prayer for Those Suffering from the Coronavirus

You shall not be afraid of any terror by night
nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Of the plague that stalks in the darkness,
nor of the sickness that lays waste
at mid-day. Ps 91:5-6

Merciful God, hear our fervent prayer for all who suffer from the coronavirus.
May those who are infected receive the proper treatment
and the comfort of your healing presence.
May their caregivers, families and neighbors be shielded
from the onslaught of the virus.
Give solace to those who grieve the loss of loved ones.
Protect and guide those who strive to find a cure,
that their work may conquer the disease and restore communities to wholeness and
health.
Help us to rise above fear.
We pray in the name of your Son, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, now and forever.
Amen.
