A Simple Prayer Marking One Year of Pandemic Life
|
|
God you are with us all the time. All the time you are with us.
Today we remember. We remember how things used to be. We remember how many things we have gone through. We remember things we missed and people we lost.
Today we hope. We hope for healing. We hope for vaccines. We hope for wisdom.
Today we share. We share smiles with one another. We share our joys and our sorrows. We share our dreams for the future.
God you are with us, all the time. All the time, you are with us. Be with us as we remember, hope, and share. Amen.

The EYC gathered outside on the church lawn this past Saturday for some long-awaited fellowship and fun! The youth came together, masked and socially distanced, to sort through clothing that had been donated as part of Matthew Anderson's clothing drive. The clothing will be distributed at the end of the month as part of the Out of the Garden organization's food distribution, which takes place once a month at Lindley Elementary. Those in need from all over the county are invited to drive through and get needed food and clothing. The youth also painted a Turquoise Community Table, serving as a symbolic gesture welcoming those in the community to gather and talk at this table. Ending on a fun note, the youth played Capture the Flag and a few rounds of Pickleball!

Endowment Effort Underway for Daniel A. Seaman Award
|
Upon Dan Seaman's retirement from teaching high school, a prestigious theatre award was renamed in his honor, becoming The Daniel A. Seaman Award for Outstanding Achievement in Ensemble Theatre.
Now, a group of Dan Seaman's former students, fellow teachers, professional colleagues, longtime friends, and family members are combining forces to endow that award.

As many of you know, one of the duties of St. Andrew’s Altar Guild is to decorate our worship space for special services, including Easter. On this very special and festive day, we would like the church altar to be full of beautiful flowers, especially lilies. We invite you to support the Altar Guild with an honorary or memorial Easter Flower Offering. The bulletin for Easter Sunday will list all donors and dedications.
Gifts may be made online at this link, at church during Tuesday office hours, or by mail. All gifts should be received by Tuesday March 23rd.

We would like to purchase several weather resistant benches to place around our campus, as a sign of welcome and sanctuary. These are one more way of saying, "wherever you are on your spiritual journey, you are welcome here." The benches cost $400 each. If you would like to sponsor a bench as a memorial or as an honor gift, please contact Rev. Ginny Inman at ginny@standrewsgso.org.

Continued Water Concerns in Herman Hall
Throughout the rainy month of February, the water level was at its peak, and we
have had water seeping into Herman Hall once again. In lieu of building an Ark, we
are currently talking with basement specialists and structural engineers to learn how
we might best address this ongoing issue. We hope to have some possibilities and
estimates soon so that we will have a vibrant and safe space to welcome back our youth and children this summer or fall. A huge thank you to the “bucket brigade” –
the team who has worked tirelessly to stem the tide and shop vac water on a daily
and sometimes hourly basis – Betty and Alan Atwell, Mike Van Ormer, Scott
Durham, Sandy Shelton, and Stephen Inman.
