In case you missed it...
Worship Updates
It was such a gift to be together in person and through our live-stream on Easter Sunday. As we monitor the COVID numbers in Guilford County, we will continue to worship online at 10:00 a.m., but we have good news to share! On Sunday April 18, we will offer an outdoor, in-person Eucharist at 3:00 p.m., where we will be able to sing. Masks and social distancing will still be required. Our attendance is limited to 75 persons, and signup is required. You can sign up at http://bit.ly/outdoor418. If you do not have internet access, please call Susan Frye in the office (extension 1) for help signing up.

Instead of weekly Wednesday Compline, we are planning several special worship services in the Easter season. Look for announcements in the weeks to come.
Abundant Life, April 13
It is time again for us to plan our offerings for next Tuesday, April 13, for Abundant Life meals and groceries. A list of needed items and instructions can be found at http://bit.ly/Abundant413. Please note request in the instructions to let Shelley and Barbara know your planned purchases or cooked items. You may also contact Shelley (336-404-0177) and Barbara (336-521-0040) with questions.

Parent Meeting, April 18th at 5:30 p.m.
We are excited to begin welcoming families back onto our campus and dreaming about what next at St. Andrew’s for our children and youth. Join us virtually for a parents’ meeting on Sunday April 18 at 5:30. We will provide an overview of current diocesan guidelines and have a conversation about what parents want and need. Join us at http://bit.ly/StAParents418 (passcode StAParents). You are also invited to bring your family to outdoor worship that Sunday at 3:00 p.m. See worship signup link above.
New Life - Yanceyville Place Apartments
In this season of Easter, the Church of the Holy Spirit and Mills Construction are proposing an affordable apartment development in northeast Greensboro. You can read about it at http://bit.ly/Yanceyv. One fourth of the apartments will rent from $273 for a one bedroom to $384 for a three bedroom, with rents for households with somewhat higher income levels ranging from $502 to $875. Tenants will be connected with supportive services to gain stability, especially those moving from homelessness and those with disabilities. The apartments will be high quality construction and energy efficient, with a community center and beautiful woods and stream preserved for environmental learning.

Please contact your city council member to voice your support for this work. The city council votes on May 4. Contact Beth McKee Huger with questions, at bethmckeehuger@outlook.com.
Commit to Creation Care
We believe that care of creation is integral to God’s dream. As the Church celebrates the 50 days of Easter and new life, we also recognize Earth Day on Thursday, April 22. This is a time to give thanks for creation and recommit to ways of strengthening our stewardship of Earth, our island home.

You are encouraged to participate in this year’s diocesan Earth Day 2021 Challenge. Click on the picture to download the flyer, or click here to learn more.
Donations-Related Tax Information
There may be tax advantages when making a donation to the church either for your pledge or for a special gift to the church. Such gifts may be made through a financial account such as a qualified charitable distribution or a direct stock donation where you are not exposed to the tax implications from the application of the stock price.  When these contributions are made, the church requests that you specify with your financial institution on the memo line that you by name are making the contribution when you plan to have the funds directly deposited into the church’s financial account from your financial account. This is better known as an ACH transaction where there is no human interaction with the funds and there is not even a check that is involved in the transaction.

If you do not specify on the memo line in the ACH transaction that you are making this gift, then the church has no way of learning who has given the funds until you notice that you did not receive credit for such a gift when you obtain your Quarterly Giving Statement from the church. We are unable to gain this information from any financial institution due to privacy laws. When you do receive your first quarter giving statement, please review your statement carefully. If you have given a gift to the church that is not reflected on your statement, please contact our new bookkeeper, Ray Marsh, at bookkeeper@standrewsgso.org, to discuss so that we may annotate where credit is due and correct your statement. Ray is in the office on Wednesday afternoons.
