Augusta Lane Pedestrian Bridge connects community

Augusta Lane bridge.jpg

People have been out enjoying the new Augusta Lane Pedestrian Bridge since it opened on Sept. 3.

The bridge connects homes west of Beaverton Creek to Beaver Acres Elementary School and the Tualatin Hills Nature Park. Students previously travelled up to 1.5 miles along busy roads to reach the school. The bridge is also part of the Beaverton Creek regional trail system.

A new sidewalk was also recently completed. It runs along the south side of Augusta Lane, between Pheasant Lane and Chatelain Drive, east of the pedestrian bridge.

The sidewalk was paid for by the Urban Roads Maintenance District; the bridge was paid for by the Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program.
