JOBKEEPER Payment Announcement
The Australian Government yesterday announced the JOBKEEPER Payment Subsidy that applies to Employers as well as the Self-employed .

The JobKeeper payment is intended to provide wage subsidies to businesses that are significantly affected by COVID-19.

The Government has announced its intention to pass additional legislation to introduce this new measure.
If legislation is enacted, support will be directed to employers to pass on to employees.

Key points:

We have contacted the Tax Office today, and they have advised that we can register our clients for access to the JobKeeper Payment on their behalf if required.

The Tax Office is unable to provide at this time any guidance to us as to specific details and queries we have other than that we can apply to register clients to receive updates relating to the subsidy.

We will be contacting each client individually to discuss their eligibility and the application process as more information is made available and the Tax Office has placed on their website more information and online registration capabilities.
