Rev. Stephanie Hand, Metro District CVA
Rev. Marcus Singleton, UM Pastor and Community Leader

Dr. Terry Moore, Senior Pastor, Weddington UMC

Is the church being led to fulfill God’s vision or simply maintaining the status quo? How do we discern God’s vision and how do we lead the church to become the church God is calling us to be?   Where there is no vision, the people perish (Proverbs 29:18 KJV). Eugene Peterson paraphrases it this way, “If people can't see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed.” Together we will discuss how to discern God’s vision, how to define the path to fulfilling this call, and how to lead the church to be the church.

Rev. David Hockett, District Superintendent, Metro District

Leadership is a critical component in a congregation’s ability to live fully into the mission of the Church to make disciples of Christ and impact their community with the gospel.  We will explore the role and responsibilities of the P/SPRC including conversation around the consultation/appointment process and the best practices that lead to effective church leadership.

Melissa McGill, Director of Communications, WNCC and
Chris Hampton, Director of Web and Database Administration, WNCC

We will share strategies and resources to maximize your Church’s communications on digital platforms from websites and databases to Facebook and Instagram. The session will also include time for discussion and brainstorming ways to implement these strategies in your local setting.

Dr. Mark King, Conference Treasurer, WNCC

This session will focus on understanding the WNCC apportionment funds, how local church apportionments are calculated and how they fit into the grand scheme of local church budgeting. We will review best practices for local church budget formation, calculation and faithful stewardship focused on generosity and supporting the mission of the Church through budget giving.
