Dust Collection Industry News
Dust Collection in the Canadian Food Industry
Dust collection in the Food Industry can be a complicated and perplexing topic. Proper facility maintenance is necessary in all areas of food manufacturing to ensure hygiene standards are met because a high-profile food handling scare can shift industry thinking. This requires operations managers to keep up-to-date on all the current and proposed standards. And to make it even harder, there may not be a single overall ruling body to dictate the correct requirements for each food manufacturing line.
Get a sneak peek at our new website with our easier-to-read new design and let us know what you think.
Fire Extinguishers
The Essentials of Fire Extinguishers
There are many types of fire extinguishers. It is important to use the proper extinguisher for the specific job. It also needs to be noted that for a fire extinguisher to be effective the extinguisher must be:
  • the right type/rating for the job.
  • accessible and close at hand
  • in good working order
  • used on a fire that is still small
  • used by a trained person

Product Feature
Flamesless Explosion Venting EV-VQ
The EcoMAXX®/VigilEX EV-VQ flameless explosion vents are rectangular explosion devices that combine a standard explosion panel with added protection to prevent the flame from entering the environment. EV-VQ flameless explosion vents are certified to be suitable for indoor and outdoor applications.

The EV-VQ flameless explosion panels eliminate the need for costly heavy-duty piping that is required for exterior venting when a vessel is installed within the workspace. The integral standard EV explosion panel bursts during the initial explosion phase. Immediately thereafter, the flame and burnt dust exit the vessel and are contained by the EV-VQ flame arrestor. All EV-VQ flameless vents are designed with the ability to change the explosion panel without removing the flame arrestor assembly.

Our technical engineering staff is dedicated to ensuring optimum design & product selection for every application.

Proper Testing of Explosion Isolation Valves

Understanding the importance of installation in accordance with certified parameters is crucial.

The VigiFlap Explosion Isolation Valve has been designed, tested & certified to prevent the propagation of overpressure or flame front caused by a potentially catastrophic explosive event.

This video demonstrates the necessity of proper certification testing and what those requirements are.

Intentionally certified for “Intended Use”, the VigiFlap valve has been proven to function flawlessly when tested for dust collection suction and pressure side ducting installations.
