in stopping the transmission of infectious disease,
including Polio.

Register now for WASH-RAG's hybrid event - scheduled for time zones around the world, and in person in Houston.

Opening panel!
The opening panel discussion, moderated by Brian Hall, will focus on Rotary's progress with polio eradication - a waterborne disease - and feature Rotary polio warriors.

Learn about Rotary's progress eliminating polio, and how grants for water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programs contribute to reducing the spread of disease.
2016-17 Rotary President John F. Germ
John F. Germ has participated in several National Immunization days (NIDS) in India and Nigeria starting in 2003. Currently he serves as Vice Chair of IPPC, Chair of the Countdown to History Committee, a member of the U.S. Advocacy Committee (working to secure funding for polio from the U.S. Government), and working with the BMGF for funding for polio eradication. He was chair of the $200 million campaign and chair of the annual $50 million campaign.
Carol Pandak, Director, PolioPlus, Rotary Int'l
Carol directs all aspects of Rotary's polio eradication campaign - advocacy, financial oversight, grants, volunteer engagement, communications - to name a few.
Her work has taken her all over the world where she has monitored polio immunization campaigns, assessed Rotary’s and partner activities at the country-level, and participated in high-level technical and stakeholder meetings.

Mike McGovern, Past RI Director, Chair RI PolioPlus Committee
Mike has served since 2014 as the volunteer chair of RI's PolioPlus Committee providing strategic direction to Rotary's polio eradication program. He also represents Rotary on the Polio Strategy Committee of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. This role includes working with Rotary leaders around the world and Rotary staff in raising over $100 million each year and in advocating to governments and others to contribute additional sufficient funds to end polio.

What are our WASH WARRIORS doing?
Behind the WWS14
Meet the 2022 WASH Operations Team
Since 2007, WASH-RAG has facilitated many hundreds of projects – helping clubs find partners, ensuring sustainability, stressing the importance of a needs-driven approach, and developing best practices. We encourage a holistic, integrated approach in which water is not the end in itself, but is rather the means to a better life and livelihood in the community.

While the Operations Team works hard to support the world-class World Water Summit 14, Chaired by Julia Phelps, we are also busy with our Annual Photo competition, interviewing candidates for a new Operations Team member, and hosting an Ambassador training workshop!

We hope you'll join us on June 3rd virtually or in-person!

The WASH Rotary Action Group is pleased to consider partnerships with any corporate supporter. Due to the unique attributes of water sources and water provision, acceptance of corporate support does not imply an endorsement of any particular water technology. Rotarians, Rotary Clubs, and Rotary partners must evaluate any technology to determine if it is the best solution for the conditions where the program will be implemented. The WASH Rotary Action Group can provide guidance about where different technologies work best, but Rotarians and Rotary clubs must make the final decision about how to implement their programs. Email us about your ongoing or finished project at [email protected].

This Rotary Action Group is RI-recognized and operates in accordance with Rotary International policy, but is not an agency of, or controlled by, Rotary International. To learn more please contact the WASH Rotary Action Group by email at [email protected] Thank you.
