Omar Aldoori is a General Manager at Panera Bread in Vienna. He is the key to the success of the bakery-café in the prime area of Tyson’s Corner. He handles a wide range of responsibilities from building a warm and inclusive team culture where members can cultivate their talents and work efficiently, to establishing an environment where customers can have a great experience.
Omar used to work as a Video Editor in Egypt for news and media production companies. After coming to the United States, he had a difficult time finding a similar job due to language barriers. Through the help of the CCDA MRS program, Breaking the Barriers (BTB), he was able to find a job placement at Panera Bread.
Finding the job at Panera Bread was one of the best experiences for Omar. BTB supported him throughout the job application process and helped him land a Retail Associate position there. After working diligently for 7 years, Omar became a General Manager at the café and assisted other newcomers in obtaining a job at Panera, giving them a chance to sharpen and develop their skills in preparation for further advancement.
Omar has a wonderful experience working at Panera as the company offers personalized vocational training support. As an accomplished manager, Omar learned to cultivate people’s talents. If a team member is struggling with a particular position, he tries to work to find the right fit for him/her to maximize their potential. At Panera, General Managers always set aside extra time with their Associates to provide constructive feedback on their performance and coach them on ways to maximize their full potential.
Through this initial job placement, Omar was able to learn how to run a business and be inspired to open his own restaurant one day. With a refreshed resolve and purpose in mind, Omar is confident that he can overcome any barriers and become an active member of the society to help newcomers in their job search. Panera will be the place for them.
