The Story of a Dream Taking Flight

When Sabira Rezaie arrived USA in October 2021, she brought a vision few dared to name: becoming an Air Force combat helicopter pilot. Today, at 32, she is turning that dream into reality, working full-time with CWS, driving Uber on weekends, and earning $52,000 annually to fund her flight training.

When Sabira shared her ambition, our team went beyond simple encouragement. We built a sustainable career plan. We helped her budget the full cost of training, evaluate family financial obligations, and restructure support arrangements with relatives in Houston and abroad. She shifted from Uber to a higher-paying part-time role, strengthening her financial footing. We identified additional funding sources and conducted an on-site visit to her flight school, meeting instructors, touring facilities, and ensuring the program met rigorous standards for her career goals.

In April 2026, Sabira enrolled in our ORR Refugee Career Pathways Program, accessing multiple wraparound services that eased the $18,000 cost of her Instrument Helicopter Rating. Having already earned her Private Pilot License through a full-ride scholarship, she is now just two to four months from completing her Instrument Rating, after which she will pursue her Commercial License with support from Women in Aviation International and Whirly-Girls International.

Sabira is one of 128 active clients across eight career pathways, 43 in healthcare, 35 in skilled trades, 21 in logistics and transportation, and others in IT, business, and social services.

Sabira is one of 128 active clients across eight career pathways, 43 in healthcare, 35 in skilled trades, 21 in logistics and transportation, and others in IT, business, and social services. Over 70% of our participants accessed two or more services, combining job training with transportation, financial literacy, or mental wellness support. Through partnerships like Veracity Aviation School, we are proving that when opportunity meets determination, refugees don't just rebuild lives, they build futures that inspire generations.

Training and Professional Development Services

Together We Grow
