Thanks to each and every one of you for making this the most successful fashion show yet! Income was up 10%, expenses were down 11% and net proceeds were up approximately 23%! Our treasurer still has a few transactions coming in so I’ll let Lisa Thomas announce the final number, but the net is in excess of $65,000! Thank you to all the committee chairs, mentors, volunteers, models, decorators and helpers. Thank you to those who attended, those who purchased or sold raffle tickets, those who obtained or purchased silent auction items, those who participated in the paddle raise, those who encouraged ticket sales and those who encouraged the fashion show team!
The dollar amount, while impressive, isn’t the real success story. We were intentional in creating goodwill in the community by showcasing financial or material contributions, expanding awareness of 3Cs’ mission, and better highlighting the boutiques participating in the fashion show. But the real success is the impact 3Cs’ will have on the needy - due to your hard work and generosity.
Thank you!
Ruth Runkle

Speakers report for May 10, 2023
Peg Kingery, Coordinator for Casting for Recovery,
North Idaho/Eastern Washington
Assisted by Dave Londeree (North Idaho Fly Casters)
www.castingforrecovery.org
Mailing Address: 109 E. Oak St., Suite 1G,
Bozeman, MT 59715
Their Mission: “Casting for Recovery provides nationwide healing outdoor retreats for women with breast cancer, at no cost to the participants. The retreats are open to women of any age, in any stage of breast cancer treatment and recovery.”
The non-profit was founded in Vermont in 1996, and in North Idaho in 2011, working with North Idaho Fly Casters group. In 2012 they had their first retreat. So far, they have held ten retreats, averaging 14 ladies per group. The application process starts in December. The national office pulls names out of a hat.
The retreats are at no cost to participants so they must rely on donations. The cost per participant is $1,000. The 2 ½ day retreat is held at Camp N-Sid-Sen, eight miles north of Harrison, ID. Golf carts are available for the non-ambulatory. Dave Londeree finds 14 fly fishing guides who report for duty Sunday morning. Dave takes pictures of the fly-fishing ladies and their guides from his pink drift boat.
IMPACT
· 100% would recommend the program to others
· 100% felt inspired to include more outdoor activities at home
· 99% said the program provided a sense of empowerment
· 99% improved their support base
· 92% learned something new about living with breast cancer
· 70% of the participants have never been to a support group
“Surrounded by nature and focused on learning a new skill, fly fishing provides a respite from the worries and stresses that often accompany a breast cancer diagnosis.”
