Comment on proposed road maintenance activities

Review and leave comments on the draft 2025-26 Road Maintenance Program through April 20.

The draft Road Maintenance Program lists all road maintenance activities proposed for our crews and contractors in the upcoming fiscal year. The program focuses on preventative road maintenance. It costs less to repair roads than rebuild them.

Highlights of the draft 2025-26 Road Maintenance Program include:

• 6 major culvert replacements
• 1,700 miles of clearing and trimming shoulder vegetation
• 24 miles of contracted slurry seal treatments in the Urban Road Maintenance District
• 28 miles of gravel road surface stabilization
• 11 miles of paving performed by LUT crews

Review the draft Road Maintenance Program to see maintenance activities proposed on each road. Email us your feedback by April 20. Your comments will help us develop the final 2025-26 Road Maintenance Program, which will be submitted to the Board of County Commissioners for action.

Share comments on projects proposed for RFFA funding

Metro is asking the public to complete an online survey on projects proposed for 2028-30 Regional Flexible Fund Allocation (RFFA) grant funding.

Cities and counties in the Portland Metro area have submitted 24 applications requesting $139 million in RFFA funds. Anticipated available funding is $47 million-$60 million. The nine projects were submitted by jurisdictions in Washington County are:

• SW 175th Avenue Project Development – from SW Condor Lane to SW Kemmer Road, Washington County
• Beaverton Creek Trail - Merlo Road, Washington County
• Beaverton Downtown Loop – Hall Boulevard between SW Third and SW Fifth streets, City of Beaverton
• Bridge Crossing over Hwy 26 by the Westside Trail, Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District
• Cedar Creek-Ice Age Tonquin Trail – from Roy Rogers Road to OR 99W, City of Sherwood
• Cedar Mill Better Bus and Access to Transit Enhancements, Washington County
• North Dakota Street (Fanno Creek) Bridge Replacement, City of Tigard
• Smart SW 185th Avenue ITS and Better Bus Project, City of Hillsboro
• Westside Trail Segment 1, City of King City

The online survey closes April 30. Comments will also be accepted during the Joint Policy Advisory Committee on Transportation (JPACT) at 7:30 p.m. April 17.

Not all projects submitted can be funded. Metro will consider public comments received when identifying which projects to recommend for funding. In June, the JPACT is expected to make a project funding recommendation to Metro Council for adoption in July.

RFFA is funded by the federal Surface Transportation Block Grant program and the Congestion Mitigation/Air Quality Improvement Program. 

Work continues: WWSP water main break at Cornelius Pass, Frances

Willamette Water Supply Program crews are continuing to work on restoring services at Cornelius Pass Road and France Street following a water main break on Tuesday (March 25).

Contractors started filling the sinkhole late Thursday (March 27). Once complete, temporary road paving and sidewalk repairs will begin. All traffic lanes on Cornelius Pass Road and Frances Street can reopen once a temporary traffic signal is active..
