Send off the summer safely this Labor Day

The summer travel season is coming to a close with the holiday weekend. If you're hitting the road, be prepared and expect heavy traffic. Remember these tips:


  • Check TripCheck and wc-roads.com before you leave to plan your route
  • Avoid peak travel times and allow for extra drive time
  • Buckle up, follow traffic laws and avoid distractions
  • Never drive under the influence of alcohol or other drugs
  • Pack an emergency kit, water, snacks and other supplies
  • Check your vehicle's tires, lights, brakes and wiper blades before heading out

Open House

Talk with County staff about the Walker Road (Park Way to 123rd Avenue) Project at an open house from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at B4Church, West Building Chapel, 13565 SW Walker Road.


We are designing a three-lane street with bike lanes and sidewalks. Improvements at Cedar Hills Boulevard include additional turn lanes and safety improvements. Design work will continue through 2027. No presentation is planned; drop in any time during event hours.

  • Roy Rogers Road and Beed Bend Road Intersection; traffic signal shutdown, 8 a.m-2 p.m. today [Aug. 29] for pavement repair.
  • Bethany Area Pedestrian Improvements; intermittent lane closures, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept 2-Oct. 13, 2025 for construction.
