Summer paving activities scheduled to begin

Paving activities on roads across Washington County are scheduled to begin next week. Contractors will treat 103 portions of road with slurry seal and resurface five portions of road.

Resurfacing work is scheduled to begin Monday on Baseline Road between Willow Creek Drive and 197th Avenue. Slurry seal treatments are anticipated to begin mid-August. We expect paving activities to be complete by the end of August.

We have already notified community members who live on or nearby roads that are being paved. They will receive another notice about 24 hours before work is scheduled to begin. “No parking” signs will be posted on the streets and all vehicles must be moved by 7 a.m. on the scheduled day. Driveway access will be limited while the road is being paved.

A full list of roads and the anticipated paving schedule is available online. Schedules may change because of weather, contractor operations or available materials. Visit bit.ly/PavingUpdates to received notifications if the schedule changes.

Comment Opportunities

Learn about construction coming to Tualatin-Sherwood Road through an online construction kickoff open house through July 31.

Construction will begin this month and will be performed in six stages. Tualatin-Sherwood Road will remain open, but traffic will be flagged for daytime and nighttime lane closures throughout construction. Construction for the entire project is expected to be completed in September 2025.

Help select street projects to improve travel throughout Washington County. Visit the Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP) online open house to learn which projects are proposed for the 2023-2028 funding cycle.

The cost of the proposed projects is much higher than the $160 million available. Help the Washington County Board of Commissioners trim the project list to make the best use of your MSTIP dollars. Select up to three projects in each of the four Commissioner Districts. Tell Washington County which projects you think will most benefit our community! Visit the online open house through through August 12.
