Paving underway; check the scheudule

Be aware of potential impacts to your travel as paving work is underway on some County roads. See our paving schedule and sign up for email and text updates in case schedules change.

In the Urban Road Maintenance District (URMD), we are slurry seal paving over 200 segments of neighborhood streets. Expect road closures for several hours between 7 a.m.-5 p.m.

Four major roads are receiving overlay paving overnight. Expect lane closures from 8 p.m.-7:30 a.m. Neighborhood streets that are getting overlay paving will have lane closures from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

We have already notified residents who live on or nearby roads that are being paved. Those residents will receive another notice about 24 hours before work is scheduled to begin. “No parking” signs will be posted on the streets and all vehicles must be moved by the indicated time on the scheduled day.

As always, follow the instructions of flaggers and signage. Do not drive on slurry seal or new pavement before barriers are removed or you are instructed to do so. Never move barriers or signage from the road. Thank you for your patience during this important road maintenance work.

Comment Opportunity

Comment on issue paper No. 2025-1: Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) in the Rural Area to let us know your thoughts about ADUs on rural lands.

Oregon counties can now allow ADUs on rural lands not intended for farm or forest use. Our issue paper explores the potential of ADUs in rural unincorporated Washington County.
