Road crews ready for possible winter weather

There is a chance of winter weather in Washington County this weekend into early next week. Accumulating snow is more likely at higher elevations. Less snow accumulation is expected on the roads in the valley.

Our road crews are watching the forecast and will be on standby to plow and sand the roads as needed. We have been applying anti-icer to the road throughout the past week and we will use sanders to address icy spots.

Share feedback on the Kinnaman Road Pedestrian project

See designs for the Kinnaman Road Pedestrian Improvement and leave comments during an online open house through Feb. 16.

Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation plans to build 700 feet of sidewalk on the north side of Kinnaman Road between Kinnaman Elementary School and existing sidewalk near 196th Avenue. We will also build Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at the intersection with 195th Court and 196th Avenue.

This project will create a safe route to school for students. It is expected to cost $1 million, funded by the Road Fund.
