October is Community Planning Month

Here in Washington County, community planners work to create opportunities for public input, guide efforts toward an improved quality of life, and help communities develop a shared vision for the future.

On Tuesday, October 7, the Washington County Board of Commissioners approved a proclamation making October National Community Planning Month.

Before everything we do, we plan!

River Road Closure Begins — Monday, October 13—

The six-month closure of SW River Road, between SW Davis Road and SW Rosedale Road, is scheduled to begin on Monday, October 13.

The closure is necessary for the developer to install a 21-inch diameter sanitary sewer line for the Witch Hazel Village South development. The line will be installed up to 34 feet deep near the center of the road to accommodate other existing utility lines.

Detour signs have been placed along the route, and access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and adjacent properties throughout the closure.

NOTE: Neighborhood Meeting information is provided as a courtesy only. Developers must hold Neighborhood Meetings prior to submitting certain land use applications. These meetings serve as a forum for the developer, affected CPOs and property owners within 500 feet in urban areas or 1,000 feet in rural areas to discuss the proposal before an application is submitted to the County.
