Prevent slips, trips and falls on sidewalks across our community by keeping your sidewalk clear of snow, ice, debris and vegetation.
Sidewalk maintenance is the responsibility of the adjacent property owner. Leaves, branches, mud and other debris can make sidewalks less accessible and even dangerous. Regularly clean up the sidewalks next to your property and dispose of debris in your yard debris bins or trash. During winter weather, shovel away ice and snow.
Trim vegetation in or near the right-of-way to keep sidewalks clear. Tree branches must be trimmed at least nine feet above sidewalks. Cut grass and bushes that are growing onto or over sidewalks.
Is your sidewalk damaged or in need of repair? Property owners in the urban unincorporated area may be able to apply for up to $2,000 in reimbursement for eligible repairs through the Sidewalk Repair Grant Program.
