Join Us in Celebrating Building Safety &
Public Works Professionals this May

National Building Safety Month

Building Safety Month
celebrates Building Services staff who ensure homes and other buildings are built in compliance with building safety codes, resulting in resilient, safe structures that minimize the risks of death, injury, and property damage.

Public Works Week - May 17-23

National Public Works Week recognizes the many ways public works professionals improve the communities they serve.

Public works professionals build healthy communities by working on infrastructure for transportation, right-of-way management, emergency management, stormwater, and other services.

Century Boulevard Bridge Construction Starts Soon

The Century Boulevard Extension Project is creating a new north–south connection through Hillsboro.

The project will connect Century Boulevard between Lois and Main Street with a new bridge, enhanced street crossings, and improved sidewalk and bike lanes.

To protect the wildlife corridor, the project includes invasive plant removal, a new flood overflow channel, and new tree and shrub plantings coordinated with Hillsboro Parks & Recreation.

Construction will begin in June and continue through spring 2028.
