Hi, Mentor ! As this academic year comes to a close with just 15 school days remaining, we wanted to let you know how grateful we are for all you've done and continue to do for our scholars. Thank you for your commitment to these young students. You truly are making a difference.

We will be sending out a link to our Annual Mentor Update online form very soon. This online form will provide us with your most updated contact information and your plans for serving as a mentor in the 2019-2020 school year. We hope you will consider continuing to mentor your student next year. And for our mentors of graduating seniors, we will be bringing approximately 25 to 30 new freshmen into the program this August. We would love for you to take on one of our new scholars.
We are looking for mentors who can serve the following students:

  • 9th Grade girl at Gulf High School
  • 10th Grade girl at Wendell Krinn Technical High School

We will also need approximately 25 - 30 mentors to serve new students coming into the program at the start of the 2019-2020 school year this August.

If you know of someone that would love an opportunity to change a life over lunch, please contact Mentor Coordinator, Gina Granger, at (813) 794-2134 or via email: ggranger@pascoeducationfoundation.org
All TSIC scholars will be asked to send a copy of their green Mentor Session Log to their College Readiness Coach on or before Friday, May 17 . Be sure to ask to see this log at your next session to ensure it is up-to-date.

There will be no school on Monday, May 27 , due to the Memorial Day holiday.

The last day of school for students is Wednesday, May 29th!
Nine Steps High School Students Can Take To Get A Head Start On College Admissions

As schools become more selective each year, it has become necessary for applicants to show both a high GPA and strong standardized test scores if they want to stand a chance of admission. Once they meet that bar, students must find more ways to stand out. Students should be purposeful at the beginning of their high school experience, becoming involved in activities that will stand out on their resume earlier than junior year. Thank you for logging your sessions after each visit with your mentee! It helps us stay current with our state reporting.
Thanks, Mentor , for being a major component in the success of our program!
