In our next webinar in the "More Trees Please" series, we'll discuss the significant role trees play in improving public health in urban areas. They reduce air pollution and mitigate heat islands, which lowers the rates of respiratory disease, cardiovascular complications, and heat-related illnesses in cities. In addition to physical health, urban forests have also been proven to enhance mental and social well-being. Though scientific evidence of the benefits of urban trees has grown, public investment in trees has decreased.
In this webinar, learn how to bridge the goals of urban greening with the goals of the health sector through relevant case studies from across the country. Certified Arborists will earn 1.5 ISA CEUs upon attending the live webinar.

California Arbor Week is March 7-14! This annual event sponsored by California ReLeaf works to unite cities, businesses, and individuals to educate Californians on the value trees provide to building successful, healthy cities and neighborhoods. An important message every day of the year, March 7-14 is a chance for Californians of all ages to celebrate our natural wonders and most treasured resources together.
In the next week, we'll be rolling out Canopy programs and ways you can engage with the trees in your community. Stay tuned!

We kicked off tree plantings in Palo Alto for this planting season with residential plantings in Charleston Meadows, Monroe Park, and Midtown neighborhoods in Palo Alto. One of our volunteer group partners for this planting season, the Green Team student group from Gunn and Paly High Schools, and our planting leaders and TUFs helped plant 35 trees in the above neighborhoods. We thank our dedicated volunteers for their efforts in helping us increase the tree canopy in South Palo Alto!

We are pleased to share that we held our first tree planting and tree care event in Cuesta Park, Mountain View, this year! We are grateful to have partnered with the City of Mountain View, volunteer groups from the Cuesta Park Neighborhood Association, Leadership Mountain View, Community Forestry School 2020 cohort, and high school girl scouts. A big thank you to our enthusiastic volunteers for making it a very successful day by planting 10 trees, caring (weeding and re-staking) for 49 trees, and pruning 46 trees that day!

Today, we need nature in our cities more than ever—to sustain our health, to give every child a green space to play, and to create climate-resilient neighborhoods.
But community trees need community care. By giving to Canopy, you'll keep local urban forests thriving, and connect people with the healing power of nature right outside their doorstep. Thank you for nurturing our community and its trees!
