Greetings from the East,

I would like to start out by welcoming three new brothers to Natoma Lodge #64 in September. Brother Adam Dahlberg M.M., affiliated with us and has been a regular visitor at our lodge and has attended many of our events. Brother Kevin Cameron, is an E.A. who joined our lodge from Placerville Lodge. It will be a pleasure to have his remaining degrees conferred at Natoma Lodge. He is very motivated to progress. And on Sept. 2, Brother David Dahlberg was initiated as an E.A. All three men are a great addition to our lodge, welcome brothers.

We have a 3^rd Degree scheduled for Brother Lee Rabe on October 12, at 7:00 PM. All Master Masons are encouraged to attend.

Our Lodge Picnic in September was a success! We had very nice weather and of course many enjoyed a train ride and visiting the Folsom Zoo. It was a wonderful family day for our lodge. Thank you to all those that participated and assisted with set up and clean up.

Brother Art Walasek will be heading up our Halloween Family Fun Festival on Saturday, October 21. Please plan to attend. More details coming soon. If you would like to assist with the event there will be contact information provided.

The Grand Lodge Annual Communication is October 27 – 29. In preparation, we will discuss the legislation to be presented at Annual Communication at our October 5th Stated Meeting to get feedback on what the lodge is in favor of supporting. Please plan to attend the Stated Meeting for this discussion.

Brethren, please make every effort to attend and support our degrees. This shows support to the candidates and develops fellowship within the lodge. I covered the topic of delivering Masonic degree Charges in previous Trestle Board articles. If you would like to learn a Charge to deliver to a candidate, or if you have experience, please let me know.

Serving your Masonic lodge is a great way to show your commitment and gratitude to the fraternity. Here are FIVE ways you can assist:

1.  Volunteer for a committee. There are many committees that need your skills and talents such as education, charity, finance, membership, etc. You can help plan events, raise funds, and more. In fact, we need new members on the scholarship committee, the hall board, and to deliver charges.
2. Mentor a new brother. We need coaches! If you have been a Mason for a while, you can share your knowledge and experience with a new brother who is just starting his journey. You can guide him through the degrees, explain the symbols and rituals, and answer his questions.
3. Support the lodge officers. The lodge officers are elected by the members to lead and manage the lodge. You can support them by attending the meetings, following their directions, giving constructive feedback, and offering your help when needed.
4. Participate in lodge activities. The lodge organizes various activities throughout the year, such as degrees, social gatherings, educational lectures, charitable projects, etc. You can participate in these activities by showing up, bringing your family and friends, and having fun.
5. Promote the lodge in the community. The lodge is part of the larger community, and you can help promote its positive image and reputation. You can do this by attending Chamber of Commerce events, being a good citizen, respecting the law, helping others in need, and spreading the word about Masonry.

All these things and more support YOUR lodge! Be an active member and help the lodge be what you became a Mason for. Please let me know how you want to help. We are lost without you, Brother.

Hello Brethren and Ladies,

We had a very exciting September with our lodge breakfast the first Saturday followed by the Lodge picnic the following Saturday. It was a great time had by many. I would like to thank all who helped to prep, cook and clean. We could not have had such a successful day without your help.

We also welcomed a new brother to the fraternity, Brother David Dahlberg. Some of you may know his son, Adam, who recently affiliated with our lodge. I know many of us are looking forward to getting to know this father/son duo more.

For the beautiful Natoma Lodge, we will be starting October with our stated meeting and dinner on the 5th. We are going to have some fun with a little Octoberfest food and celebration. Sorry, adult libations will have to be after the stated meeting across the street. 

Saturday the 7^th from 8 - 10 a.m. we will have our lodge breakfast. I will see if I can swing some pumpkin spice pancakes into the mix maybe! The good news is, we will have bacon!!!

On October 21^st from 2 - 5 p.m. we will have a fall festival. There will be some fun crafts and activities for all ages. Some pumpkin painting, cupcake decorating, a mummy wrap contest, and Brother Arthur Walasek will be putting on a makeup tutorial. He will showcase his talents of making some creepy makeup just in time for Halloween. This, you will not want to miss.

I have also heard rumor that we will have a candidate for a third degree in October as well. This is such a strong enlightening degree and I hope the brethren can join us. It is always very impactful when we have sideliners to participate. Keep an eye on your emails for more details.

As we approach the holiday season, I am excited to see what the next few months bring and spending more time with our fraternal family. Please, everyone, stay safe out there.

Greetings Brethren,

Lots of activity with our candidates this month.  Please welcome and congratulate our two newest EA’s, Brother David Dahlberg and Brother Kevin Cameron.

Brother Greg Lane is almost ready to be raised and Brother Lee Rabe will be raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason this month.

From Natoma Rainbow Assembly #90

Hello Masons of Natoma Lodge! Here’s a little about what Natoma Assembly has been up to.

Earlier this month, we attended the Disneyland takeover. This is an event where all of California Rainbow comes together at Disneyland and spends a couple of hours in leadership training and then having fun at the park and, of course, we had to take a group picture. We all had matching shirts, so it was really easy to spot any member or adult from Rainbow in the park. We can’t thank you enough for helping support us so that we could attend, it was such a blast!
