A required class for our upcoming Intuitive Practitioner Program and for those in the Healing Certification Program (the class is free for those enrolled in the Healing Certification program)
Meditation is a self-care practice that allows us to quiet our minds, calm our physical bodies, and go within to reach a heightened level of awareness. This three-part class looks at the art, the history, the science, and the magic of meditation from three unique perspectives.
Join Rev. Diana, Rev. Story, and Rev. Renee as they lead you on a journey towards discovering the benefits and joys of meditation for yourself.
Whether you are a beginner looking to develop a deeper connection to yourself and your own divinity, or whether you are an experienced meditator looking for tips to strengthen your existing practices, this class is for you.

Self-care for Lightworkers is an in-person 3 part series that will give students exposure to valuable resources and practices to be able to do just that....self-care. Kimberly Winsor, LMT, RPP teaches body and energy centered approaches to creating and maintaining clear, positive energy in yourself and your work environment, whether you are an energy healer, providing healing sessions for friends & family, or accessing your intuition for to provide intuitively received messages. Classes taught in person at ISD Oneonta headquarters.

Chakras form our energy anatomy. When clear of blockages, they keep us healthy and balanced. In this two-part class JoAnn Wormuth, Master Energy Healer, leads us to discover the meaning and purpose of each chakra. We will learn to address & clear any impurities in our own energy system. There will be energy exercises & as well as self-discovery and healing meditations

ASTROLOGY FORCAST ( Oct 13 - 20)
This week features Jupiter and Mercury turning direct on the 17th and 18th respectively, and the Full moon in fire sign Aries on the 20th. All of this would suggest that the time is approaching for forward thinking and motion. How is this accomplished? What is your first best destiny?
As I write this, I am sitting in a field high up on my farm. The Moon, Jupiter, and Saturn are lined up in the Southwestern sky. The Pleiades has risen in the East. The Grasshoppers and Crickets, and an Owl are singing their coded melodies. The vibration of their songs stimulates my very cells. I can feel the wind and hear water running in Elk Creek. Two coyotes are hunting in the field around me and while this may not appeal to you, it is heaven for me! I am surrounded by friends. Each and every one of them is committed to assisting us.
I would like to share a technique that is not commonplace but may be very appealing and appropriate for you. This may help you create what your version of " heaven" looks like. This is the very best time of year for Star Gazing. I encourage you to get outside and look up at your "neighbors" in the sky. Bundle up and look at the stars.
Knowledge of the planets and constellations is not required for this. The objective is to try to open to the flow. The Stars and Planets in your Natal chart, your stars, are right outside your door.
Now let's talk philosophy! You have all heard the phrase, "As above, so below." and also, " As without, so within."
It has been said that there are as many neurons in your brain as there are stars in the sky! I am suggesting that you allow that to guide you in a very specific way. When you look at the night sky do your eyes often go to the same star group? Even if you don't know the name of the constellation or star, your eyes habitually fall on the same places. You may be used to feeling as if that area of the sky almost acts like a homing beacon. Now I would like you to try to go further with that familiarity. Place your hands on your sternum where your new heart center, cave of creation, and God Cell are located. When you begin to feel supported and calm, connect to your head. You may try whispering aloud, "Remember, remember, remember."
What, if any, parts of your head are stimulated, what regions of your skull are tingling? Your brain's neural net is your own star map. What can it show you? What can it help you remember about who you really are? Placing your hands on your heart source can help assure that you get only the most beautiful answers.
Use your imagination and curiosity freely. Play with connecting the heart, brain and stars and see what great adventures you may initiate! Try this technique with multiple star groups.

- The magical healing ability of music. Check out This inspirational MSN.com article about 81-year-old Paul Harvey fulfilling his lifelong dream of conducting a symphony orchestra. What makes this so inspirational is that Paul suffers from dementia. He conducted the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra performing two pieces of music that he had written himself.
- A bull elk in Colorado had been spotted for two years with a tire around its neck. But wildlife officers were finally able to locate, tranquilize the elk, and successfully remove the tire. This SunnySkyz article includes a video and pictures detailing the issue and the successful resolution.
- No beginning and no end......In a new theory centered around ‘quantum gravity’, Bruno Bent a physicist studying the nature of time at the University of Liverpool, has postulated that the universe may have always existed and just evolved into what we term the ‘Big Bang’. This fascinating Live Science article tackles about the study that ‘tickles’ the lines between science and spirituality

Just a reminder that we are continuing our Prayer Warriors group, every day at 5pm we pause to pray and send our healing energies where they are most needed right now
Each day at 5 PM EST, we will pause for about 10 minutes and meditate and pray with the intention of sending healing energy to all.
You do not have to be present each day. Requests for healing or suggestions should be submitted to our Healing Program director, Jo Ann Wormuth at the below ISD website link:

What is the Institute for Spiritual Development?
It's both a metaphysical church and an educational center originally founded 40 yrs ago in Sparta, NJ. With the belief that all paths lead us Home, ISD is dedicated to helping each spirit walk their path with courage and joy.
We stand for each individual’s right to seek their own personal Truth, as they respect the same right for others. We honor the sacred texts of all traditions of the Light.
The Oneonta NY chapter of ISD was Lovingly created by Rev. Diana Friedell & her sister Rev. Sue Landon. We are now led by a powerful leadership team, and executive board.
ISD is a spiritual community that focuses on healing and intuitive connection, and the joy of finding the spirit connection within rather than being told how it should or could be experienced.
We welcome those who want to belong to a spiritual group of like-minded people, in which you can explore and find your own path in a community of love and support.
There are classes, services, events, and a sense of community and fellowship. Energy healing and intuitive messages are delivered as a regular part of the worship service. Classes offer many tools which will help you on your life path, and the community we are creating together is one of openness and acceptance, and the ability to adapt with change and growth.
