Putting Business First -
Vote August 7
Primary elections are right around the corner on August 7th. Volunteers from your chamber Board of Directors and Government Affairs Committee interviewed Muskegon County Commissioners and rated the candidates on a business friendly 5-star rating scale.

The ratings are based on the candidate's views and intent to act upon the issues that impact businesses in Muskegon County.

New Government Affairs Leadership
Your chamber welcomes new leadership to the Government Affairs Committee: Chair, Viktor Anderson with Structural Concepts, and Vice-Chair, Eric Ringelberg with Next I.T.

Your chamber works with elected officials on the local, state and federal levels of government to influence pro-business policies that support economic growth. Participation in the political arena from all citizens in the community is essential for dynamic growth.

Recruiting and Retaining Young Talent
More than 60 area interns from 20 Muskegon companies attended this year's Interns on Deck event!

In its ninth year, Interns on Deck gathers summer interns from Muskegon Lakeshore businesses and provides them with an opportunity to meet one another and tour the Muskegon Lakeshore community.

The area interns did a walking tour around Downtown Muskegon, and had a bus tour showing them fun places to visit.

The goal is to showcase what the Muskegon Lakeshore has to offer in hopes that the interns will consider moving to or staying in Muskegon County upon graduating college and completing their internship.

Thank you to Arconic and L3 Combat Propulsion System for sponsoring this year's event!
Record Breaking Year!
Your chamber is proud to announce that our Lakeshore Art Festival had a record breaking year! From the record number of exhibitors, media exposure, and attendees, this year marks the best yet. Huge thanks to the sponsors and volunteers who made this event possible!

This event is directed by chamber staff member, Carla Flanders. Your chamber staff worked hard on the marketing, logistics, coordination, volunteering, and so much more!

Thousands of visitors traveled to Muskegon for this award-winning event. Your chamber is now surveying members to see how business was impacted during the destination festival.

Hist-o-gram Stories: 2012
In 2012, your chamber took over the Muskegon Art Fair that was once part of Summer Celebration and re-branded it as the Lakeshore Art Festival.

The art fair has been part of Muskegon's summer events for more than 50 years and was a natural fit for your chamber.

Chambers across the state and country produce art fairs because it promotes the community, supports local business, and brings visitors from all over the country.

Lakeshore Art Festival is now an award-winning festival that continues to grow and thrive.
