The first samples of our officially licensed MTA Metro-North Railroad Siemens SC42-DM are here! This Charger variant is designed for commuter rail operations out of NYC, using third-rail electric power in Manhattan before switching to conventional diesel-electric power once out of the city.

Developed in collaboration with Siemens Mobility to ensure prototypical accuracy, this version of our HO Charger features retooled trucks with included third-rail pickup shoes, a new plow design, and a unique vent and door configuration to match the prototype. As with all of our Charger models, these models include TCS WOWSound® DCC, now with a modified sound map to allow for operation in electric-only mode.
